Since this thread might be my fault, here's what I have for track day videos so far:

Saint Lawrence Motorsports Park with the Sports Car Club of Vermont on Spetember 3-4, 2005:
http://homepage.mac.com/jtross/iMovieTheater42.html

New Hampshire International Speedway with SCDA on October 17, 2005:

Coming up soon, another NHIS day with the BMWCCA...

I can't wait until this thread gets buried on page 2.

Hey! it says "track day reports" not autocross reports.

My instructor pointed out something pretty important. When you autocross, you get to do one "lap", then sit around for a while, then do another "lap". No chance or rhythm to develop. At a track day, you get a block of time to go around the track as many times as you can... it makes a huge difference. You can try something different on consecutive laps and actually be able to tell a difference.

During the SCDA day, the sessions are about 25 minutes long. I was getting a warm up lap and 12 or 13 "hot" laps in a session! Huge improvement over autocrossing. As long as you brakes, tires, and mind can hold out for 25 minutes, that is.

It does now. ...and racing is included for all you folks with competition licenses. In addition, this is a no-fault zone. Just thought it would be nice to have a central place where people could find this kind of information.

Thumbs up BMWCCA Oktoberfest 2005 - Virginia International Raceway

For videos taken from inside my S while at VIR, go to: http://minis.thibodeaus.com/Oktoberfest/, hosted by David Thibideau (driver of the other, black MINI named "SOOPER").
"Autocross 4 - 1 min. 5.043 secs" is my fastest and last run on the Autocross course. I apolgize in advance for the filming, it was my second day with the video camera. I should have backed off on the telephoto.

"You Rock - Back on the Gas" is so named because those were phrases my instructor Danny Alvis used during this video. Shot with too much telephoto but no rear view mirror.

"BMW GT3 Racer with Danny Alvis" is from the checkered flag stand looking down the finish straight as he approaches and blows by. This car was raced by Hans Stuck and other pro BMW racers up until this spring. Crank up the volume!

"Second Day - With Speedo" was taken on, guess what, the second day. The speedo is somewhat visible throughout.

"VA Rt 43" was shot as I drove up this access road for the

Important Note: None of these videos have been edited. The "Second Day" and "You Rock" videos have long lead ins that you may want to fast forward through, although Second Day's lead in includes a discussion about the lines through turn 3.

Return to Hudson Bay 2010 (and 2011) . . . not

Another video from the same event... longer, lower quality, still my "slow" Cooper, still Quicktime 7, more "story" oriented...
