Lightbulb 3M Sez.."Raise the roof!" "Barn-raising party" Saturday, Jan 7th 2006

As most of you know, Malibu Stacey and I have been working on our house for over a year now, trying to "fix 'er up". Unfortunately, due to work schedules, etc it has gone excrutiatingly slow.

So I'm putting out the call for help.

Stacey will be in Hong Kong from the 2nd of January through the 13th (?) celebrating her recent graduation (MBA) from Daniel Webster College, here in Nashua. While she is away, I would like to try to have this house finished as best as earthly possible as a graduation present to her. (This is a surprise and she knows nothing about this, so if any of you happen to talk to her, please don't mention it.)

I am inviting all who are willing and able to work, to come by and help. There's a lot that needs to be done and I just can't accomplish all of it myself.

Yes, there will be food, depending on how many people sign up, there may even be "GREAT" food...

Here is a list of the things I need help with:

moving furniture and miscellaneous stuff (the biggest part)
Wallpaper removal
Painting
Spackling
Flooring
Baseboards
lots of caulking and minor touch-up stuff..

Anybody who would like to come please let me know, ASAP. Also, tools... please bring them I don't have that many.

There's a lot of work, but it should be a fun day. (Sorry, no run this time..) Parking is very limited and our place is rather small, so I can't have 50 people show up, but I can try to accomodate as many as possible.

Stop the world, I wanna get off!!!

Derek, you need to look at a 2006 calendar if you are talking about this coming January.

I'll have to wait and see how the snowboarding / skiing season is looking before I can say if I'll be available to help or not.

1) Would I get to use a nail gun?
2) Would I be able to paint via a paintball gun?
3) Will there be use of any kind of gun?

Annete... you can use a nail gun.. Plenty of that to do.. I've had Harvey's nail gun for a couple months now.. it's pretty easy to use.

Colors are already picked out.. sorry..

I can almost see this is going to go nowhere..

I mean, you are going to get laid for getting the house finished before she gets back. What do the rest of us get out of the deal?

Resisting the urge to make a rude joke about "caulking", I think I could be convinced to attend. Maybe...

I can get involved with the stripping ... OK at covering large surfaces in paint too but not so hot on the detail stuff ... a bit of furniture lugging is OK too
