Rear Fog Light

Help! My rear fog light broke again! I got the new part last year that included a toggle for the rear fog light. You turn it on in rainy or foggy weather and the left rear light shires more brightly than usual. It stopped working after a few months and I took it back to Herb Chambers Boston for replacement. They replaced it for free. But, after a few months, when I turn it on, BOTH rear lights shine more! What's this, why does the rear fog light not work again any more?? Is there something I need to do or what? I want my rear fog light!! I don't have time to take back the part all the time! I have Mini S 2003.

I thought it was supposed to be both lights for the 2003? All the ones that I've seen that were modified were both.

Yes The top lights in both right and left taillights are the rear fogs on pre-'05s. They are actually separate bulbs from the brake lights.
05+'s rear fog is the low center light above the exhaust.

So it sounds like your rear fogs are working correctly?

yeah... I agree... Mine is just the light above the exhaust and what they told me is pre -05 is on the sides.. in fact, it almost looks like you're in reverse when you put the rear fogs on and I believe that is why the change was made in 05 models on...

Thanks---I must have misunderstood when I got the fog lights kit. I thought the rear left light would glow, but now you are saying both! I remember the email from the MINIUSA announcing the new rear fog light kit two years ago. It said something about the left rear light that would glow. Well, I must have gotten my wires crossed or something...!
