$4000 is still a good deal for the upgrade, good idea

It was a young lady that was totally blown away by winning - she was one of the "DX"(?) trivia team I think ... I'll get her info from HC MINI tomorrow if she's not online here ...

Thankfully, I'm not in any trouble because I enjoyed a great lunch with Margaret, Theo and Carol at Pollys Pancakes today, so Carol will happily forgive me any mis-interpretations

Got home around 1pm today (such a nicer drive home than when we lived in MD ) Thanks to all the volunteers for working so hard to put on a stellar show this year.

Annette-the calzone was great (even if the sauce was cold ).
Ricardo-Thanks for being a nerd and knowing every James Bond movie.
Theo and Carol-Thanks for helping out. Sorry we didn't give you a proper good-bye.
Ian and all the other yellow hats-Thanks for letting us participate!

To everyone else it was great seeing you all again. And it was great meeting all the great dogs that came to the event. Everyone was so well behaved. I hope we'll be invited back next year.

Congrats to Laser who won the fabulous Dog Bed. I hope he enjoys it.

This was my last drive to the top. I will definately be making it to MOT2007. But I will be waving to you from the bottom.

Thanks again and Happy Motoring

Beth

P.S. special thanks to whomever left a surprise on the car this A.M.

Finally home. Oh, I got back to CT by mid-afternoon, but had to spend the day with the fam. I promptly crashed on my aunt's couch for a snooze.

Many many thanks to all of the people who worked so hard to make this event the smashing success that it was! It was great to put some faces to screen names, and to meet some of the new people (it was uncanny how quickly Puddle Jumper was able to ID my car). I think I may have to head up a day early next year because a weekend isn't nearly long enough.

Sorting through the pictures, hopefully I'll get them up tomorrow night. And yes, Bert, that includes your little "show" at the pond

This was my first MoT, and I'm so glad I went! My boyfriend and I are already making plans for MoT 2007...the only question is...do we go in his or mine??? Every experience I've had in this community has been wonderful, from the folks at MINI of Peabody to all the waves from fellow enthusiasts while driving around town to the welcoming and generous spirit of everyone who attended and/or organized MoT event -- with the JCW install raffle/auction topping it off last night. Truth be told, I've had a lot of problems with my MINI lately, as my posts have indicated -- but stuff like this makes it all worth it, and it was a great and timely reminder of how happy I'll be when I have a functioning MINI again. Thank you so much!

We stopped at the Flume Gorge (exit 34A off 93) on the way home -- a gorgeous walk.

The attached picture was taken as we were driving up Mt. Washington, right behind GBMINI.

See you all next year!

Next year, I highly recommend everyone ride back in a tow truck.

Not many were left at the T&C at 10:30 this morning when I discovered my mini wouldn't start. Thankfully there were some that did come to my assistance and had the bright idea to check the fuse for the fuel pump, which sure enough had blown. Replaced and blown again.

Here's a bit of trivia: did you know that after you check out, the computer disables the AC in your room? Though better than outside, my two hour wait for a tow truck grew hotter and hotter...

Another bit of trivia: Don't break down on sunday. MOP cannot rent you a car. Thankfully I was able to have a friend pick me up and can borrow my girlfriend's car for work tomorrow.

But nothing more than an inconvenience (and mystery..I had no trouble driving back from the mountain last night); had this happened a day early it would be a different story!

When pulling from the parking spot by the front door my power steering made a terrible noise (that '78 Olds noise that makes everyone cringe). Hasn't happened again so I will forget it happened at all, Had similar problem when the transmission broke. Got to MOP after noon. Car rental joints are not open past noon. Had to take the Logan Express bus to Logan to rent a car. Not the funnest weekend ever.

Flickr Photo Group

Just like last year, I've created a Flickr Photo Group for minis on top photos:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/minisontop06/

I would ask that you only add what you think are your best or favorite photos so it remains reasonable for everyone to browse.

However, tag all your mot photos with minisontop so people can search them. In fact a search for that tag already shows photos from previous years:

Sorry to hear about the car, Josh. Hope that gets sorted quickly.

We had a great time!! Thanks to the Bar Harbor group for letting us join the fun in Rumford. Hopefully Scott will be back from Japan next year in time for all th fun and festivities. Also thanks to everyone who petted Chloe...she was so exhausted she slept all the way home and most of today. We'll have photos and videos up in the next couple of days.

Yes it was! Her name is Shannon Glaser of Woburn, MA. She is probably setting up her MINI2 account as I write this! She couldn't be more excited to win. This was her second trip to MOT (both times as my co-pilot), and ever since she has been saving for one! Also she has been having some troubles with her current car.

On another note thanks to everyone involved in MOT! That goes to the yellow hats, the T&C, the Auto Road staff, the caterers, and each and every 'MINI' person we met. Everyone combined made the event, in a word, AWESOME! Pictures coming soon...

Ian, I will e-mail you Shannon's contact info.

Kevin
