Removing the Supercharger Pulley - Cape Cod MA

I've removed some tough pulleys, but this is ridiculous. I have a 2005 Cooper S with only 3500 miles so it's not like there's a lot of rust, and am replacing the pulley. I've tried a regular 3-prong puller with penetrating oil and a lot of heat but nothing. I broke down and bought an Ultrik puller, got it seated just right and it broke. I'm about to start the old fashioned method of grinding it off unless someone has some better suggestions. Thanks in advance
Dave

You are in a den of MINI activity there! I'm going to move your thread to the NE forum, to get you some local help.

I think all you really need is to borrow the tool?

Call Nick at Hyannis Foreign Auto in Hyannis 508-775-3115. We did my first pulley at his shop. He has a pulley puller made specifically for the MINI.
Where on the Cape are you located?

I tried to pm you but you have opted not to recieve them . I made tools for Randy Webb that will do the job. you will still need a harmonic balancer/crowfoot puller to use this tool. PM me for details Jock Holden (are you a member of MAMA? I will make this tool available for NADA if you are- shipping excluded)

out of my mind.........back in five minutes.

Jock, PMs are disabled for everyone below a certain post count. It discourages spammers.

I would like to help. I've done 3 so far, have the tools and will use any excuse for a drive from Newport. Also have the tools for the crank damper. Just like to help out and work on the MINI's.

Did you remove the screw that is in the end? That would help to hold it in, that and the plastic cap thing

I spoke with Dave and it seems that he so mangled the original pulley that he was left with no alternative but to cut it off with a cutoff tool and a die grinder. I wished him good luck and I'm wondering how he made out ????? Jock

out of my mind.........back in five minutes.
