| For those of you who haven't a clue about the Bar Harbor Invasion, here's what it is all about. It's basically a pre-MOT meetup in Bar Harbor, ME, that will begin on Wednesday, June 14 and finish on Saturday, June 17, but you're free to arrive at anytime before Saturday morning. If you have the time, plan to spend a few days in Bar Harbor because there's a lot to do and you'll be well rested for Saturday. I actually like the Bar Harbor portion more than MOT! I recommend staying at the Wonderview Inn: http://www.wonderviewinn.com/. They have hosted us the previous two years and are both MINI and pet friendly. You can, however, stay where you like, but the Wonderview Inn is where most of our activities will start from. Wednesday, June 14: - 6:00PM Informal get together at the Wonderview Inn. Thursday, June 15: - Free Day: explore Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, take a drive down east on Route 1 to New Brunswick, Canada, etc. There's plenty to do. Or just relax! - 6:00 PM Group Drive to Dinner at The Burning Tree: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...bor_Maine.html. It's one of my all time favorite restaurants ever! Friday, June 16: - 7:30 AM Breakfast at Jordan's Restaurant: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...bor_Maine.html. If you like blueberry pancakes and bottomless cups of coffee, this is the place. - 9:00 AM Group Drive around Acadia National Park: http://www.nps.gov/acad/home.htm. - 12:30PM Lunch at Thurston's Lobster Pound: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...bor_Maine.html. You can't get lobster any fresher than this and the blueberry pie a la mode is good too. - 2:00 PM Post Lunch Group Drive around the park or drive back to the inn and relax. - 5:00PM Happy Hour at the Wonder View Inn. Bring a six pack of your favorite brew or whatever. -6:00 PM Group Drive to Dinner at Jack Russell's Steak House and Brew Pub:http://www.bhmaine.com/JRPrimary.html. Don't worry about the driving, it's a short distance from the Inn. Actually it's less than a quarter mile. Saturday, June 17 4:15 AM Ouch! A pre-dawn drive to Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park to view the sunrise and then it's off for a group drive to Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH and meetup with the MOT festivities. The day ends with a sunset drive to the top of Mount Washington. By attending the Bar Harbor Invasion you'll get to see the sun rise and set from the top of two mountains in two states. It's a long day, but it's well worth it. So that's pretty much it. Trust me, you won't be disappointed if you decide to join us. Cheers, Harper. | Harper, I recommend posting a link to this thread on the main MOT2006 thread; if it looks like there is more interest we'll field it onto the MOT web site and send an email out to all the subscribed MOTers. |

| Pam and I did this for MOT'04 coming from a tour of Nova Scotia. Took the Cat from Yarmouth NS into Bah Hahba. One of the best weeks we have ever had. Beautiful sunshine with gentle breezes everyday and then we ended with a bang - 95+mph winds atop Mt Washington! Wouldn't change a thing. “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.” - Alexis de Tocqueville Eric the Red |

| Invasion I have always said when MOT weekend got to be too much I would skip MOT and go to Bar Harbor. Some day I am going to see a spectacutalr sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mountain. Till then, great people, great driving, great food, great scenery. I will be there. The Maine crew will be cranking this up as we get closer. Brad and Benjamin York, Maine |

| Wonderview Inn in Bar Harbor I just booked our rooms at the Wonder View Inn in Bar Harbor for the 3 nights before MOT. The owner said that he reviews 2006 room rates mid-March - and that anyone booking before then gets last year's (assumedly better) prices. In past years, the MINI group also got a 10% discount as I recall. Tell him its for the MINI group, and ask for the discount. Someone bring a radar detector this year. cheers, Dan and Mary |

| We are in as well and can work with Brad and Ben at getting this going. Harper, PM or email me and tell me what you need/want and i'll try my hardest to make it happen. This is my favorite part of the MOT weekend, lots of camraderie and a great trek to the Kanc to meet everyone. The 4am drive to the top of Cadillac is a little brutal without coffee or Red Bull, but if we ever get to see the sunrise it will be worth it. keep in touch all, Blaine and Mo and Tomo (the big white Akita that fills the back of our Mini ) |

| Bar Harbor My wife & I would enjoy being part of the invasion. It is more than 30 years ago since we camped in Acadia Park with the kids and it is a beautiful spot. I suspect that each of us will make our own reserrvations at Wonderview Inn so I have phoned the Inn as well as e-mailed but no reply. Any idea how many at this point will be attending?
