MOT 2006 - Donation Thread

Hey there all you MOTers. We will be trying to fill the huge hole left by Ed “Maxamini” Smith in the task of obtaining as many donations as possible for the 2006 MINIs On Top event! We all know that Ed did a wonderful job last year and he had already set some lofty goals for this year. We want to make this year just as successful. We have volunteered to take on this task and are asking for everyone’s help. This is the plan that we have come up with.

- Regional volunteers to contact vendors in their area requesting donations. And since we have so many of you from all over the country we will not limit the effort to just New England and NY/NJ, we are an equal opportunity receiver of donations (sorry I am in Human Resources!) This will allow for greater coverage of vendors and hopefully more fun prizes for all to win!
o If anyone has special ties to some of the larger MINI vendors like OutMotoring or MiniMania, perhaps your local MINI Dealership, your help would be especially appreciated – it’s all about networking baby!!
- Donations can be sent to the Auto Road:

MINIs On Top
Mount Washington Auto Road
Attn: Mary Power
Rt 16 Pinkham Notch
Gorham
NH 03581

If there are sample magazines, flyers, etc. from the various vendors they can be sent to:

MINIs On Top
PO Box 617
Essex
MA 01929

If you are interested in being a volunteer to get donations please email us at:

donations@minisontop.com

We will forward on to you a sample letter that you might use in soliciting donations and some other information that will help us be as successful as Ed would want us to be. Once you have secured donations please let me know so that I may catalogue the donation and give proper thanks at the event.

In an effort to not have tons of people contacting the same vendor please let me know the region that you would be covering or check with me to see if someone has already contacted that vendor.

Thank you in advance for your help!!

Mike, Ariane and Luego

Thanks NHRef, spread the word and keep those donations coming. Maybe we could get Jesse James to donate that MINI with the snomobile tracks to have a MINI on Top in the winter!! Anyone know his agent?

An excellent donation... I own one of Becca/Bonnie Blue's scarves. They are top shelf works of art.

Hey, GBMINI#3 is 6 speed

Of course since the JCW upgrade is still not approved for the MCSa in USA, this donation is only suitable for manual transmission MCS's built 01/04 and later.
It's possible that pre-01/04 cars can use the kit - there is an issue with the exhaust hangers but there are multiple possible options around that (if a pre-01/04 owner wins, he/she will need to discuss with MINI of Peabody

This MAJOR DONATION will be offered on a raffle ticket basis - tickets will be available and officially announced next week.

Hopefully the weather cooperates in June and the winner won't need to use this until October, but just in case.... We'd like to donate a 70" x 70" hand-quilted, patchwork Quilt.

To those poor souls that are married to a quilter you can understand the time (and husband neglect) that goes into the making these pieces.

Hopefully this becomes a HOT item in the auction.

As someone married to a quilter, I can vouch that the Quilt is an incredibly generous gift! The skill and hours required must have been great. This is truly a gift of one's time and talent.
