NHIS track day in August - any interest

The "new guy" at MoP is curious to see if there would be much interest in an organized "track day" at NHIS; the target would be some time in August, certainly on a week day not a weekend.

No more details available at the moment - but post here, or let me or Paul know if you are interested, and maybe more will come of the idea ...

Personally, I still don't want to do any event that requires the wearing of a helmet - but it would be cool to have a gathering up there even if I am only a spectator.

That's a silly question!

I'd definitely be there.

we had a survey going on over at OSMC... you know I've already done it.. I'll do it again... listen, there isn't anyone in this forum who would need a helmet (except MAYBE and I strea MAAAYYYBEEE, the Cod..) you have to be pulling uder 13 seconds (unles they change the rules) for a helmet to be required..

I'm all about it.. keep me posted!

Jason - I knew you'd be up for it
Jock doesn't surprise me, and I'll be fascinated to see how much MINI there still is in Gregs car

Derek - I expect if MoP takes this further, they will get assistance from the BMW CCA; if so it's their requirement that people have a helmet. But that's just a guess from me at the moment.

Er, it's not for how fast you go - it's for how fast you stop. Every car here could crash into the barrier fast enough to need a helmet.
Some places / groups have loaners, although I don't think BMWCCA does. Maybe MoP could get a few demo ones, or get HMS Motorsport involved..?

I'd be up for it anyway. I've got a helmet and before anyone asks I don't loan it out.

I think your talking about drag racing. I beleive and sincerly hope that we are talking about NHIS road course. They (NHIS) would not let you on their track without a helmet.
