Actually on one of my totals, they settled on the total amount, and then I was able to buy the car for salvage value. (It went through a hailstorm). I then sold it to a neighbor's kid for $500 more than salvage, so it was a good day.

Sorry to hear of the demise of your fly ride, John. Take all the time your back seems to need to heal up. It'll prolly take a lot longer than you realize. Perhaps some long term physical therapy wouldn't be a bad idea either, and under NO circumstances should you sign off with your insurance company until you are 101% back to normal.

my auto insurance will not cover meds. stinks but legal in ct. so my med insurance is at bat, and they haven't even heard from me yet. The hospital, however, has likely contacted them.
