Many thanks to Rick and laurie(even though Rick said he didn't do a thing) and to Tony and Fanella for putting on a great event. Really couldn't have asked for better weather. Several funny anecdotes:
  • picture me Picking Raspberries trying feverishly trying to catch a glipse of the hawk I was hearing at top volume only to have it pointed out that the noise was produced by loudspeakers to keep the smaller birds away from the precious berries(thanks Pat!).
  • Hannah and I managed to get away from the farm for the ride around Mt. Manadnock sans instruction sheet and got hopelessly lost.........well not so lost that we didn't eventually hook up with Pat leading the osmc crowd and we all managed to find the ice cream spot with no trouble at all! Good times!
  • Sunday morning we left the Woodbound Inn in Rindge and got as far as Gardner, Mass, when Hannah remembered we had left 2 quarts of Raspberries, a raspberry pie and a bag of peaches back at the Inn................nice day for a ride, so we turned around and drove back to get em(of course!).

out of my mind.........back in five minutes.

Thanks everyone for a great time, and (with the shade and some winds) great weather.

We thought we were heading back after the mountain run so we could pick some rasberries..but the ice cream made up for it. Apologies to those who were asking me questions and I had to cut them short when I saw everyone leaving for the drive.
Does anyone have a map of those dirt roads we drove on?

We made some blueberry cobbler, and it came out great.

Had so much fun with everyone. Good to see people I met at MOT and all the new faces I didnt get to meet. Thanks very much for the great day. I've already had blueberry pancakes and I'm halfway through a blueberry pie.

Hey Beth, tell those folks at Virgil's that they sold you a skunked root beer! Popped open one to accompany my dinner last night, and there was a very subdued "pssst", as opposed to the typical explosive decompression. Poured it out and that sucker was flat flat flatter than Kansas. The metal hooky thing was still sealed under the label when I opened it, so it came like that. I think it had a weak seal. Damn Bavarians.

Just a Little Too Far

Sounds like this event was alot of fun. Unfortunately for us we had just been to NH and Conn. the week before to vist family and I wasn't anxious for another trip through the Airline (Rte 9) in Maine a week later. Guess I'll have to be happy with MoT until I have the time to travel - hate it how work cuts into MINI travelling time...

I looked on top of my fridge and saw 2 root beer bottles. Silly me thought they were empty, picked it up and was mistaken. Whoo Hooo I've got root beer!

Thumbs up Awesome event!

Another GREAT gathering at Monadnock Berries! Thank you to Tony and Fennella for allowing us MINI owners to invade their fruit fields!!! Thanks Rick and Laurie for organizing this event. The food was great, especially the corn. The fries were pretty good too!
Nice conversing with you Annette during our berry picking time.
Hey Pat, was that you I just heard? "show me your berries"
Maureen---------!! Thanks! Sorry John, maybe next time. Hope to see you both soon.

I apologize for the delay but my access to the internet is very limited.
Until next time,
Dan

Thanks to all for a great event.

I usually keep my camera clicking but I got too involved in picking berries and therefore didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked. If you are interested in seeing those that I did take then here is the link (just navigate to slideshows).
