What happens to these CDs and the music on them?

Here's my reasoning:
Duplicating songs and giving them away isn't exactly *ahem* legal and the appearance of MINI2 allowing this to continue may not be in the best interests of the site.

Some suggestions have been:
Submit a list
Publish an iTunes shared list

There may be others.

Please take this into consideration and modify the first post. I like the concept and don't want to remove the thread when it can be easily remedied.

I don't think the intent of the CD contest is mass duplication, but a personal use copy that is sent to the contest reviewer for judging. Of course, I've had ideas about tunes but never figured out how to copy onto a CD yet, even though I have a pretty damn good idea how. I have pretty strict personal standards on copyright rules, but I don't think the copyright laws are in huge danger from the MAMA CD contest.

It's not a situation where people are mass manufacturing their favorite tunes for distribution. Also, I suspect most of the tunes submitted aren't going to be things easily found on iTunes. (Except maybe Shatner.)

The CD's are submitted for judging purposes only. No material goes beyond the judges, and all copies are kept under lock & key until the contest is over. Once a winner is chosen their entry may be played once at MINIs onTop. Following the event all CD's are made un-playable using various tools from our chest and used as christmas tree ornaments.

Don't do it it's rigged hey, waaaay back early in the MoT thread I suggested a PA setup @ Loon, and someone said they could bring one, so maybe we can play some of these CDs there and at the tent....to accompany the best grape smuggler outfit of the day....hopefully it won't be a cold rainy day like last year or we'll have another George Costanza "I was in the pool" episode
