Looks like Oxford Motorsports (NHRef) will be at the Boot Sale!

Why even refrigerate? What do you have against room temp dough and sauce?

Pamlico, clever reply with a noose! My real name means that! OMG!

NoNo, for a while I though you were talking about selling cojoles!

Are calzones pastry rolled up with meat and sauce filling? I have yet to taste some really good ones...so, you make delicious calzones from an authentic Italian recipe?

A stromboli is rolled, a calzone is sort of like a pizza folded in half, but with ricotta in the middle and sauce on the outside. I'm going to make a test batch soon. If I can make some without having to charge you guys too much to recoup the costs, I may consider selling a limited amount. And of course there will be brownies. And for old man Secco, maybe some biscotti and anginettes.

If you can believe it, there's a place in Keene that makes the real deals. Just had a stromboli the other night with ham, pepperorni, salami and mozarella. They also make their calzones with ricotta. Something that's almost unheard of around here. Most Greek calzones are just a folded over Greek (yuk) pizza.

Old man Secco is blowing off MOT to spend the day playing with his little package delivery friends. Does that really merit goodies?

That's all the more reason to make them. And I don't find it odd that there's real Italian in New Hampshire. According to the Sopranos, that's where the outcasts go.

The best part is all the people calling the NH Tourism Bureau wanting to visit Dartford.

I find about half of the delivery places around here make their calzones with ricotta. And most are folded-over pizzas. I usually specifically ask for no ricotta, because it's not like they use the good stuff. In all cases, no one ever includes enough sauce, I always ask for extra.
I usually go for a calzone with cheeze and onions. Sometimes broccolli and cheese. And sometimes Buffalo Chicken (with blue cheese instead of sauce). Never bad no matter where you order from. The hardest part is choosing. I think there are 6 different places that will deliver calzones to my door.

Ok, well first off, buffalo chicken is not a valid calzone choice. And it's not calzone if there's no ricotta in it. Then you're eating stuffed bread. Pending the results of my test, if I decide to make calzones, I'll start a thread to take orders. I'll offer a few choices (buffalo chicken or anything involving pineapple will NOT be included) and people can choose.

Thank you for hijacking this tread and deftly transforming it into the "MOT Take-Out" discussion.

But seriously, a quick note to all potential Boot Sellers about arrival times and rules...

The Loon Lot schedule calls for a Drivers' Meeting and the Kanc & Franc Drive staging to begin about 11:00 am. That means the prime hours for the Boot Sale will be from 8:00 am until about 11:00 am.

If you are a Seller at the Boot Sale, please plan on arriving at the Loon Lot with enough time to set up and ready your items. Most potential buyers will arrive around the 8:30 - 9:30 timeframe.

You are reminded of the following rules:
1. All the items being sold by a single seller must fit in the boot of his/her MINI;
2. No tents, tables, tarps, display boards, signs or other exterior equipment can be used for the sale;
3. Items must be displayed entirely in or on the seller's MINI;
4. While a basic MINI theme should prevail for most of the items being sold, other items may be included like books, magazines, crafts, baked goods, and other treasures.

And remember, you do not need to register in advance as a Boot Seller. Just arrive at the Loon Lot, show your MOT2006 car tag to the Traffic Control "Yellow Hat", and tell her/him that you will be a Seller at the Boot Sale. He/She will direct you to the appropriate Loon Lot entrance where you will be parked with the other Boot Sellers.

Thanks,

Theo
