1st annual miniQ Auto Show

Please post replies and suggestions and anything of interest pertaining to the MINI-Q Auto Show. Here is a brief schedule for the two days;

MINI-Q AUTO SHOW Agenda and Schedule:

Our Sponsors display walkway is open to all participants. Please visit them often and show your appreciation for their great effort to make this event a success. There are 25 acres of grassy and securely gated fully enclosed area. Please park only in your designated place either for the show participants, MINI Cooper Auto Show Awards and or the Autocross event participation. Contact the security staff with your need for any personal attention. Please use the garbage disposal containers to keep the grounds clean; we would like to invite you back for the next year event.

--- Saturday May 20th;
Sponsors pre-award day setups. MINI Cooper Autocross Exhibition events all day will consist of three 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place MINI trophy and Sponsored awards plus special achievement certificates. These events do not promote speed, rather skilled and safe driver abilities.

--- Sunday May 21st;

(Voting fliers will be distributed to all attendees on the event grounds. We reserve the right to cancel any of the scheduled award events with out prior notification)

Main Event the MINIQ AUTO SHOW Schedule:

Saturday May 20th;
--- 8:30am – Open to Sponsors; Display tables assignments and setup for tomorrow’s big show. Set and mark up the parking grounds, rally contests and car show awards grounds. Secure the entrance gate way and grounds. A setup of the registration station and wrist band passes distribution. Implement electrical power distribution, video surveillance recording, walky-talky communications followed by all equipment testing and review of the event staff responsibilities.
--- 10am – START the Autocross Event – Racing track pre-run, review and demonstration of the 3 Autocross events. Safety gear and skill levels review of all drivers. Review Driver disclaimers and sign. Autocross contest rules and regulations review.
--- 12:noon - 1st Autocross Event; The MINI Snail run. (Slowest car will win)
--- 1:00pm - 2nd Autocross Event; The MINI Target Slingshot run. (Closest to the target car will win)
--- 2:00pm - 3rd Autocross Event; Crazy Eight MINI run. (Least touched and closest to traffic cones car will win)
--- 3:00pm - Autocross Awards Ceremony and review of Sunday events schedule.
--- 4:00pm - Day end closing of the Autocross Grounds and clean up, including next day events preparation review.
--- 5:00pm - Closing and clean up of the event grounds…

Sunday May 21st;
--- 8:30am – Open to Sponsors, set up of the grounds and secure the entrance gate way. Test all equipment, communications and review and assign staff responsibilities.
--- 10am – Event START – Open gate for the MINI Car Show Awards judging, allow the participants to do detailing and preparations for the event.
--- 12:noon - Car Show Awards Rules and regulations review. Distribution of the MINI car spec sheets to be displayed on the car wind shield (ie: 2005 MCS/Blk, 12k Miles, MTH, Pulley plus all the aftermarket stuff) and the judging events schedule and points award sheets.
--- 1:00pm – The awards judging of MINI cars will start. While breaking for lunch there will be free White Castle Hamburgers and BBQ food for sale. MINI Cooper owners and friend’s time; getting to know you time plus picture taking.
--- 2:00pm - Games for the kids (Water Balloons, Bubbles, Pictures of MINI Drawings contest etc) Possible MINI R/C Car Race?
--- 3:00pm - Awards Ceremony and Grand Prizes for Auto show – Grand prizes Raffle followed by review of the Sunday events plus more picture taking and friends making.
--- 4:00pm - Appreciation and thank you time for all Sponsors and volunteering participants.
--- 5:00pm - Day end closing conclusions and clean up of the grounds.
--- Final Closing and clean up of the event grounds. Please help all participants and sponsors to depart safely.…

We expect many spectators and Auto Show Awards participant to attend. Please park your car slowly and carefully where designated, your safety is our priority. The Sunday May 21st scheduled MINI Cooper Auto Show Awards participants parking is separate from the Sponsors walk-way and the visitors parking area. The Saturday May 20th scheduled Autocross events area is fully segregated and safely secured from the public and sponsors access space. There are full accommodations available at the Hilton Garden Hotel phone631) 845-1000 located only 1½ mile from the ‘miniQ’ event. The securely gated ‘miniQ’ convention grounds entrance is only ½ mile south from the Rt. 495/LIE exit 48 in Old Bethpage.

It’s only 3 days to the MINI-Q! We are all excited and ready to put on the best MINI Cooper Auto Show in the North-East USA just for you!

The main entrance gate will open at 10am to all visitors; we highly recommend you bring at last one or more bottles of water per person and a lunch with you. There is a snack shop about 300 feet up the road at the Bethpage Village Restoration main entrance and parking lot and rest rooms. Almost $10,000 worth of MINI Cooper Performance upgrade Prizes will be raffled off! We will have the largest MINI Cooper Auto Show in New York prepared just for you and your MINI! Yes there is much more but for that you will have to be at this weekend MINI-Q Auto Show Event! For the more adventures driver you will have the opportunity to test your skills early on Saturday May 20th in the GEN CON Exhibition Autocross. There will be three great and enjoyable race track runs you have never experienced or seen anywhere before. To win it you must be in it! The Race event registration starts at 10 am sharp.

Both this coming Saturday May 20th and Sunday May 21st event hours are from 10am thru 5pm. We are looking forward to your participation in the MINI-Q the MINI Cooper Car Show Event of the year. Of course children 12 and under are also welcome and the admission is FREE.

Old Minis and New. Radicals and Stock. Customs and very Clean.
Vendors and Dealers( Helix, Alta, Craven) (Hampton and Haberstadt Mini.) I probably missed a few others. My apologies..
Great Prizes also. Too many to mention. I even managed to win a few.
Did you ever see a 23 minute pulley install. It was like a pit crew at Indy.
If these guys do this again next year. Put it on your list of places to be.
They could only make it better.

I stopped by, it was alright. Not earth-changing, but everybody was really nice and an effort had certainly been made. The old Austin/Leyland Mini's were great. I had heard that the old Mini owners and the new MINI owners didn't really get along, but that wasn't evident at all today - everybody got along great. A good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

BTW - I was the guy with the BRG/WR Cooper, license plate "I FIT".
