Thanks Paul and the MoT team for putting on a great event. I have never done an autocross before and really enjoyed it, even though I was only able to get in 3 runs. My parents are visiting from England and were good sports attending with in in the first place, but by 12.30 my father was hot to trot and so we had to leave. My mother, who didn't expect to ride as passenger, had a blast .

Thanks to Hrach for chatting to my father and keeping him entertained.

Looking forward to the next event.

A big THANK YOU to MoP for hosting this event. I can't believe the amount of fun that was had by myself and my friend flogging my car around the autox..........wouldn't want to do that on any semi-regular basis! First run was a 22.3something and I improved everytime (except for one when the DCS was on ) right up to my last of 20.892!!

Good to see some familiar faces met elsewhere's and new ones as well. I wish my dealer was this cool and I'll be sure to wear my nice new MoP hat to Mini of Fairfield County next time there!!

If anybody has any pics (in action) of my DS/W S (with the quad lightbar), please PM it to me. I would really appreciate it as I was too busy either riding as a passenger or taking video with my digital camera.

Looking forward to next year!!!

I'd also like to extend my thanks to the MoP and BMWCCA crews. It really was a fantastic event! I loved the fact that we could basically do as many runs as we wanted; the sheer number most of us got in today is pretty amazing.

Thanks, too, to Dave and Sheena for keeping the front seat occupied!

Cheers Brian and Sheena, you made it a great day for me. Enjoyed riding shotgun with you. Sheena you really are a good driver, but don't yet know it. Brian you drove like a maniac, I am sure in the Z3 you would have got 18 secs. So much fun. Great to see Sam so fired up about her new MINI, nice to see, you go girl!

Thank you to all for a great day, great folk, great food and a day to remember. Thanks to Scott of MoP for organising all this and great to see Keith and did anyone hear that quiet guy, had a ZZtop beard, I think his name is Pat from RI?

Cheers

Sorry to Brian for almost running him over on the course when I managed to let go of the steering wheel going into the first turn.

Good times, good times.

I finally got to drive an MCS in anger (even if it was in a teeny tiny autocross course). And, I managed to post the same time in both my car and Pat's MCS).

You're too kind, Dave. I might have been able to do a little better by paying attention to setup (or at least tire pressure), but I think I need some serious help to go much faster. :-)

Yeah, seemed like a real nice guy. Hard to get him to speak up, tho. Kind of a delicate flower, that one.

I'll send you my dry cleaning bill. ;-) I was far less scared while diving under the flying cones you sent my way than when watching that big diesel Merc coming through!

Anyone ever seen a three-wheeled MINI before?

This was by far the most fun I have ever had with my clothes on! I MADE A DOZEN RUNS IN MRHYDE with a best time of 21.518. Miguel (one of the bmwcca guys) did a lap at 20.017 in MRHYDE so I'm glad to see I have a long way to go. I think MRHYDE did a total of 32 circuits with different people behind the wheel. I would like to say thanx to Paul. vinny ,Gary and the pink hat chicks from MoP for putting on this great day. I would also like to thank Steve, Miguel, Larry (from bmwcca) Jason, Jess and Joe for driving MRHYDE and giving me some valueable feed back as to how I might improve my driving and MRHYDE's handling.
I will be back.

P.S. when Ang gets a chance she will post the pictures.

Pat, MRHYDE is a very stout little car. I don't want you to not be happy with how it ran, especially since I made more than a few comments about how it "wouldn't turn". A lot of my issues driving MRHYDE were probably due to it not being my car.

What a great day! Thanks all you crazies!

Folks,

When I pulled into the BMW dealer and saw all the cars I was quite surprised and very delighted. I hadn't expected the competition event to draw such a crowd as I did not attend last year.

I have been living on NAM and the SccaForums site and not here, and clearly I have missed a community that I would like to be a part of.

I too had a great time driving, and welcomed the chance to get 10 runs in in a single day.

What was the most fun was working the course at the end of the middle section and watching Mini after Mini coming screaming up that little wiggle and then jam on the brakes and duck left or right as the course dictated. There were so many smiles on the drivers faces, not to mention the occaisonal junior passenger strapped into either the passenger or the back seat, with hands sometimes in the air like a fair ride!

I have been to regionals, and nationals, and BMWCCA events, but nowhere have I seen a group have more fun, and that is what makes the Mini difference. What other marque inspires giggles when observed in competition?

Anyway, I was pleased to meet those of you that I had a chance to speak with, and will hope to join you again in future, and will remain a presence on this board to ensure that I do.

Good to see everybody yesterday (yeap, even Pat). We couldn't have asked for better weather or turn out. It was good to see everyone having a good time, and I hope we can schedule this in as an anual OctoberFAST!!!! Thanks Sheenabea for posting those pictures!!!! I was honestly a little shocked to see how many postings and pic's were posted by the time I got into work this morning at 8am. Thanks Paul for the excellant work planning, scheduling, etc. etc. - Not bad for Pauls first event for MoP!!!!! I think it was the best one we've had (that I've been to). Again, good to see everyone - let us know what you like and don't like - so we can have an even bigger and better one next year.

Remember the first day you got your license?
Now that was some good motoring!

Jason, when it comes to anything you have to say about my cars performance I listen. I don't have an ego and it was kinda cool watching you dropping air pressure and shock dampening to make it turn better. Like I said yesterday, you will see me again at these type of events.

We had a great time as always. Thanks to everyone for their hard work. Scott is totally hooked. If we are still here we'll definately be at another event like this.

Pat, I want to see you in your kilt next time.

Yeah, I want to see Pat in a kilt & step-dancing!

Wonderful photos, Angela! How did that pick-up truck get into the act? It must have been a joke! Who did the fastest and the slowest? I see other makes of cars--did they sneak in?
