There was an article in the Herald today about the Bruins low attendance problem. Coming out and playing like utter crap from start to finish against one of the worst teams in the league, on a Saturday night following a big win over New Jersey, while charging $55-$100 for decent seats (and an obscene $177 for seats on the glass). That's why they have low attendance. No rocket science involved there. They've priced the families and the working class out of the game, turned it from a "41 nights a year" thing to a "special occasion / once in a while" thing. Simple math. Bad product + outrageous prices (anyone up for a $8 beer?) = low attendance. Like I said, not rocket science. That's why they (and so many other teams) have low attendance. Bunch of knuckleheads, the whole lot of 'em.
Let's hear it for the Curse of Secco. He dares to whisper that his Rangers are on a tear, and since there it's back-to-back losses of 9-2 and 6-1. Shnikeys, don't ever root for one of my teams, man...

I was really amazed at the cost of the seats when we went. Bought tickets to see the Caps at Verizon and didn't want to pay more than I paid in Boston. Got LOGE seats for less than I had the balcony. Ted Leonsis lowered ticket prices a few years ago. I was amazed at how little my season tickets cost ($3000 for the both of us).
I gave up my Flames tickets after the '02/'03 season; tired of watching boring hockey and paying $4500 (for a pair) for the privilege. Naturally, the next season we go all the way to the final !! And, because of the renewed interest in the fortunes of the Flames I couldn't get tickets if I wanted them, has there is once again a waiting list. They haven't had a list for season tickets since '91/'92 I believe.
Oh yea, being a goalie you'll probably get a kick out of this photo, MGB Boy; me and the worlds best goalie -

The Curse Of Secco lives on, the Isles went into MSG and left with a win.
Little Marty out Ovechkined the Russian wunderkind, way to go St Louis. Six goals and seven assists in the last six games. Nice.
The Bruins continued the Jekyll and Hyde schtick, following up that crapfest against Florida with a solid 7-2 smackdown of the Senators up in Ottawa. Go figure. Solid night by Timmy, 35 stops on 37 shots.
And last night I won our "end of the year" game in my Monday night group. My boys tied it up late, then I stopped all three shots in the shootout for the win. I've only been in two shootouts, but thus far I've stopped 7 of 8 shots. Now I just have to figure out how to stop the shots in regulation...
So, didja get anything good for your birthday, old lady?

Quiet you! You're older than me remember! Got a check, a silver dollar and diamond earrings (well the earrings were for hanukkah) but I opened it on my birthday.
The Caps almost came back. But almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
Every year, the percentage that I'm older than you drops. Last year I was 10.3% older than you. Now I'm just 10% older than you. In another five years, I'll be just 8.6% older than you. By my math, that sounds like you're catching up!

Probably seems like fuzzy math 'cause you're getting older. Things like math start to get fuzzy when you get old. You're probably noticing that, old timer...

Only if I can find the rink. They still play in La Colisée de Quebec, right? Thought I heard something about Colorado, but I think that's just an urban legend...

And the Curse of Secco hits four games, the Panthers take a pair of points from the Rangers. What did you do to them, John-boy?
Good night for hockey. Bruins win 2-0, despite being outshot 39-19 (including 14-0 in the third), thanks to TIMMY!
And the Bolts won, with yet another goal by Marty. Plus Mr UPS brought me a new batch of custom sticks from the good people at Christian Hockey in scenic Warroad Minnesota. Merry Christmas to me! And since I'm once again a freshly-minted single guy, tonight I got to watch all kinds of hockey instead of "Grey's Anatomy". Like I said, a good night for hockey!
Ewww, an ad just came on during the Sabres/Preds game for a Billy Joel concert. I detest Billy Joel. I'm gonna be all kinds of cheesed off if I have "Piano Man" stuck in my head all night....

I was going to send you all kinds of smelly soaps for you but since you are sans girlfriend I won't. But if you still want some smelly soaps I will (I'm good people like that ).
This year I made all sorts of smelly soaps so that I could earn extra cash this holiday. Sold 5 bars of soap for $15. Certainly not a whole boatload but now I have lots of last minute "oh crap, we didn't get x a gift"
The smelly flavors that I have
1) Chocolate
2)Turkish Mocha (which smells a lot like Coffee)
3)Red Apple
4)Pumpkin Pie
5)Sandlewood Vanilla
6)Pearberry (which is a very strong scent)
That's it. So I'm now taking orders. These also make good freshners (although I don't know how long they'd last in your hockey bag! )
This would be a pro bono soaping of course, only to my closest friends!
