Goalies always have groupies, you know... No cupcakes for me, I think I'm going to stay north this weekend. Even though this is a "short week", it's really draining me. I'm probably going to visit the doggy thing, maybe skip out early before the game. We'll see.
No idea, I'm open for whatever. Whomever sticks their hand up first.
I can't believe how much Anaheim is dominating the series so far. Ottawa had a nice bit of pressure in the first period when they had a 5 on 3 powerplay, and they had a nice bit of pressure late in the game when they were trying to tie it up, but other than that, it was all Anaheim. Outshot 'em 32-20 in game one, 31-16 in game two. 16 shots on goal?!? The way Seabass has been playing this spring, how on earth do they expect to win with only 16 shots on goal? Getting outshot 63-36 in the first two games is a great way to go home down 2-0 in the series. I know that among a lot of media pundits "Ottawa in six" was a pretty popular prediction. They're going to have to win the last four straight for that to happen, obviously. I think some media types over-estimated the Sens. They're very good, no doubt about that, you don't make the finals without being very good. But I don't know if people took into account how poorly Buffalo played in that series, I think there were a lot of people who said "Buffalo was supposed to be the best, and Ottawa blew them away, Ottawa must be really good!". Yeah, but Buffalo's intense devotion to underachieving helped a lot. Ottawa could still come back and win this series, but I think folks got a bit caught up on the Sens bandwagon after the Easter Conference finals. We'll see.

So...you have groupies? It's only because the goalie has all of his teeth, don't ya know.
Emery got caught with his pants down on that goal. (or one of the Sens missed an assignment) because that's how they beat him in game 1. He comes out too far to take the angle away and it's a softie pass and goal. I went to get a blanket and told the dogs to make sure they didn't score (they all followed me so they scored, naturally). I can't believe how they're getting outshot. It's almost criminal. The Sens have to get more physical for game 3 they have to step it up!
Sounds good to me. You know they're talking about getting 4 trophies this year, so if we win you won't have to share.
That's O.K. I know it's a trek, [guilt voice] I've done it several times. [end guilt voice] Gas prices are out of control!
I've heard it said that goalies have groupies because (unlike the rest of the team) they can go for 60 minutes without a rest and they never leave the crease. But I'm sure I have no idea what that could be a double entendre for, innocent flower that I am.
Yep, I was expecting that! I'm officially blaming gas prices. $3.25 a gallon. Yikes. Plus I think I have yet another road trip thrown in now, this one down to Keeler. My shifter is making a sound like rusty gate when I change gears. So I think there will be a drive down to Latham next week. Too many road trips! Latham, Montréal, Gorham... One of these things is not like the others.
Can the Sens turn it around? As you've probably heard by now, 30 times the home team has taken a 2-0 lead in a best of seven series. 29 times, they've gone on to win the series. So Ottawa's odds kind of suck right now.

I'm going to have to retract my invite for hockey at my house, the balloon festival is in Essex Junction and I promised Louis we would go. So...that means the trivia trophy may be dropped off on your doorstep as well as a certain first aid kit.
"Any discussion on hockey goaltenders must begin with the assumption that they are about three sandwiches shy of a picnic. I can prove this. From the moment Primitive Man first lurched erect, he and those who came after him survived on the principle that when something hard and potentially painful comes at you at great velocity, you get the hell out of its path. Goalkeepers throw themselves into its path. I rest my case." - Jim Taylor
Played a great game tonight, if I do say so myself. Got the shutout en route to a 4-0 win, moved into sole possesion of second place. Nice. Even better, it was against a team that I used to play for, that always makes the win sweeter. My D played very well in front of me, only hung me out to dry a couple times, and neither time too egregiously. I only gave up one juicy rebound (I like call them "Emerys"), and I managed to glove the follow up shot, so it didn't cost me. The ankle taping thing is going so well that I think I might start taping the other one too, just so they match. It really has made a big difference in my game, I think because it's one less thing to think about/distract me, I can go laterally and it doesn't hurt like hell, so I just focus on the play in front of me. I've been in a really good groove over the past couple weeks, hopefully it keeps up.
This two day break between Stanley Cup games is irritating me.

I imagine that could be arranged. Sheesh, now I have to clean up the seventeen pounds of junk that have piled up in my kitchen since the last hockey party (I'm so bad at taking out my recycling regularly)...
