Maybe you could just put more ducks on the right side to compensate... more wind drag to pull Lucky back to the right!

Have you tried an adhesive yet? For 500 ducks, I might recommend Liquid Nails from a caulking gun.

Interior ducks and various bling will be sticky backed velcro.
Exterior ducks...I'm not sure yet. I'm going to do a comparo with some form of PL adhesive, Liquid Nails, and JB Weld, and PC-11 which I have used successfully in many applications. The key is to find something that will really cling to the ducks as they are rubber and flex a bit. Doubt this research will make it into Consumer Reports magazine.
The Cape Cod MINIs club will be meeting this evening. Lucky the wonder van will be there with a mess 'o Lucky Duckys to get started.
We'll be writing donors names and usernames on their ducks w/ permanent markers.
Thank you to all who have responded. We are now coast to coast w/ CA, GA, FL represented and international with two donations from Australia

It was too bloody cold and dark to go out and admire Lucky. We had a good meeting though and some good ideas from Bill and Libby for a Big BABE Send Off Party in May that Cape Cod MINIs will sponsor.

You plan to name the car "Lucky Ducky"? I won't be surprised if it picks up that name on the way to Big Easy with ducks sitting all over! :-}}

I have an uncle (on the Spanish side of my family, as will become quite obvious) whose first and middle names are Facundo Vicente (with the latter pronounced "Vithentay", where the c is like the th sound in "thunder", as is the way of things in most of Spain but not in South / Central America and most U.S. high school Spanish classes). Anyhow, growing up in Barre VT with a name like Facundo was every bit as much fun as you can imagine, which is why he goes by "Vince". Apparently being called "little ****y" eventually got old.

Bill's first Proton Bash Update

Picked up Bill at 7:30 a.m. today and made the run to Boston in Lucky.
Lucky performed like a champ. He only slipped first gear half a dozen times at stop signs until he warmed up. It's sort of interesting to hit the gas, hear and feel the revs go up....nothing happens...then POP! into gear and away we go.
Got into the HOV lane and zipped into the big city with no probs.
Bill was nervous. Haha...I shouldn't laugh but he was so zoned out and on edge. He was pushing the wrong buttons in the elevator on the way in, the static ones next to the real buttons that actually make the lift operate...nerves were a jingling.
We waited for a bit as others had their treatments for various reasons. A little guy about 8 years old was there for treatment. He is apparently a regular and was showing off his Bruins hockey puck that a player signed for him just recently. Bruins sponsored him to a great seats because the guy who works the desk at the proton laser treatment office made a phone call to the right people. There was a beautiful young girl there of about 12 yrs. of age, completely bald reading a Harry Potter book waiting for her session, and various elderly folks there as well.
There are three surgery rooms and they all use the proton blaster at the same time for their various patients with various needs. So you will have 12 or so people waiting at any given time and three are taken at the same time to make use of the laser in three different rooms.
Despite being a nervous wreck, Bill performed well and the first 60 second session went perfectly. The next four sessions are Tues, Wed., Thurs, and Fri. of this week.
I'll try to find the illustration of how the proton beam therapy works and get it posted.
Thanks to all who have donated to the fund. You are great people.

Great to hear that Bill and Lucky made out well. As for you.....

Just heard from baker...he's working on breaking his second transmission on the way to work today. I think you could have bought a MINI for $250.

Does it make me a bad person if I laugh at that? Hasn't that man learned his lesson yet?

Layout of the Francis H. Burr Proton Therapy Center treatment level showing the FDA approved radiation delivery system, which includes a cyclotron (upper left insert) and an array of over 50 magnets, each weighing between 1,000 and 5,000 pounds (highlighted in orange, blue and green). Protons can be delivered sequentially to any of the 3 treatment rooms by bending the beam using the magnets. Radiation is isolated to individual treatment rooms with 6 feet thick concrete walls.

Bill's tumor is sort of mushroom shaped. A die had to be cut the same size and shape as his tumor. The beam is directed through the die to the tumor.
We saw some of the die blanks and they look like brass, about the size of a dinner plate and a good two inches thick. I would love to find out how they machine them to match the tumors.
Libby says that today's session went very well.
