hmmmmmm?

Hey Steve Joe and Dave, Is anybody else starting to get a weird feeling about this thing. I know that Steve has tried to get in touch with the organizer to get my name added to the team with no luck logging in (I'm still "TBA"), and I have tried twice to register to post to the forums, both times unsuccessfully. Yesterday I tried emailing the webmaster to ask her what is going on .The email was delivered , but never opened. WTF????? Is anybody else curious why the organizers seem to have flatlined or am I just being a worry wart? ( seems like at $250 a pop for entrance money, this could be a lucrative little scam)

Is there a phone number or address to contact ?

out of my mind.........back in five minutes.

Hehe, Jock. Seriously, don't fret.
The organizer, Justin Clements, has been doing this for quite some time.
He is, as I write this doing a recon of the BABE route. He's driving from FL to New Orleans and then doing the route to NYC (and back, I think). He is scoping out different motels and some alternate routes. He puts a lot of time, effort and money out of pocket into these events.
If you go here you will see what he's been up to:
StreetSafari :: View topic - BABE2007 Recce

He has also been in contact with me about Bill's Bills but I have agreed to say no more than that.

**I would also hold off contacting him or Karen for a few days. Justin hinted in his last post on the Banger forums that there has been a "sad" family incident that will require their full attention for a bit.

btw, Jock, when I tried to register for the BABE forums, it took multiple tries. Turned out that Comcast was shredding all emails from that domain, or something like thqat. I was able to get a confirming email at a different address.

Actually I tried using my stealth hotmail acct . and setting up another name/password etc. and got nowhere, but that's interesting about comcast. Are there preferences one can tweek to make this kind of shredding go away? I've also noticed that a lot of thumbnails on mini2 seem to be blocked of late too

Just so you know, Laurie can't receive anything from Comcast at work either. Just so glad we got switched over to them from Adelphia.

Preliminary report from Bo Diedl says my check was cashed by a shifty looking character favoring one shoulder and wearing ragged shorts. Took the money in 20s and stuffed it into a Thai food court carryout bag while in the bank. More as reports come in. BTW, whatever happened to the days when you could hire a private d*i*c*k for $30.00 and expenses a day. D. Hammett, where are you?

How can one take "the money in 20s" when your total = 0? Another one of Secco's mysterious mystery's of life?

Lucky got Freebie oil change, tranny fluid/filter/gasket change and a good going over by Nick at Hyannis Foreign Auto. Air pressure = all around and Lucky pulls harder now to the left. Joe, we need some better rubber. Two nails found in right rear tire. Don't dare pull them out!
Trying valiantly to stick rubber duckies to Lucky with no success. Too cold. Have new products ready to try later today : Shoe Goo and a dual plunger epoxy product.

Bill is feeling pretty good. His eyesight is still out of whack. I would definitely not want this guy driving my car at this point in time. Your generous contributions have taken some of the sting out of the many medical bill$.
I know some of you have sent emails saying the check or Paypal is on the way and have then become busy and perhaps forgotten. A gentle reminder that your generosity, no matter how small, is large to Bill and Libby. This is one of those occasions where "it all adds up" has true meaning. If you skip your take out coffee and big muffin one morning and one rental movie this weekend there's your ten bucks to send! You didn't know it was so simple but it is!

Joe, they are 195 75 14. R's of course....unless you have some swell bias ply Tiger Paws laying around. Mis-matched wheels would be fine too as long as we have a 5 bolt pattern that matches.
Closer examination of the rear tire shows punctures made by Roxbury-ish nails. My panel of experts say they come from that geographical region.
Ian, I think the guys on the tour du nord are picking up "things" tonight It's legal in
Canada you know. That's why all the punters are heading up north

Weeks long scientific experimentation finds correct sticky stuff!

By George I think we've got it!
Finally found the solution to attaching Lucky Duckys to Lucky. Despite the high temp. today being 27 F. I had success with Devcon two part "2 Ton Epoxy". Working
range of -60 to +200 F.
The 15 or so ducks in this experiment have stuck nicely. I think I can proceed with attaching the remaining spoken for ducks tomorrow.
**Notice the lack of snow on the ground...loveitloveitloveit!!
