I think they're picking up 'tail winds' on the way home...

Hi all,

Writing this from a hotel room in Pawley's Island, SC. My daughter Rachel and I are driving the Vegginator back to Cambridge the long way 'round. NOLA to Columbus, Georgia, then here via Savannah and up the coar]st on rt. 17. Plan is to be home late Thursday or maybe Friday.

We're still running on veg (picked up 62 free gallonsin New Orleans) but only enough for another 600 miles o so. Then diesel home. That's okay -- I have enough grease stains on my clothes to fry a cod.

More details and picture this weekend.

I got in about 9:15 p.m. last night. Uneventful trip home although two days of 800 plus miles is tiring. Lucky never hic cupped once on the entire trip home. Gas mileage increased phenomenally w/out the ducks and misc. accoutrement. Also cut down on travel time because every time we stopped for gas or a rest we didn't have to talk to people for 1/2 an hour about the van and the rally. When Dave sends me cd's of pics. I will work on posting them when I get them.
BBQ in Sweetwater, TN; shrimp etoufee in New Orleans; Popey's chicken in no-where Alabama were some of the culinary high lights.
Being stopped in NC by a state trooper to pass on a littering ticket to another BABE team was a great high light too

Big congratulations to both crews...! Great going guys.

It occurred to me that if we found a way to blend the odors from the interiors of both our returning heros' vehicles, it would probably smell like a State Fair on a hot day.

Relieved (and surprised) to hear both vehicles are still running fine after the trip.
We'll also see if killboy snapped some more decent frames.

Got home on Tuesday found both mine and Debbie's computor not working,my brother is coming by tonight to check them out.Had a great time on the Babe rally.I think we had a great team. The Cod is well, the Cod a good guy.Dave is a very funny and good man I'm glad to know him.Jock is a good guy and the only man that I know that snores as loud as me Lucky did very well a couple of leaks in the beginning that we fixed by pouring some goop in the engine and transmission.Ask Steve about that special leak he checked out.All in all it was a wonferful experiance and I would do it again.

Has he defeated Secco and claimed the title "Mr. Drippy"?
