Alright, I think I may want to take another whack at getting people up here... I just need some help ironing out a good plan.
Here's what I've got right now. P&H Truck Stop off exit 17 of I-91. Google it. Every review I;ve read says the food is great and the pies are even better. And not just random people giving reviews, it's been mentioned all over the place.
So... exit 17 of I-91 is on route 302. Route 302 should be familiar to MINIs on Top veterans - it's the road that runs east/west just north of Mount Washington, and the Kanc (route 112) is the road that runs east / west just south of Mount Washington. The 302 / 112 junction is just east of exit 17 of I-91, where the truck stop is.
But, instead of heading east, we could look west... head west on 302 and you get to run route 232 through Groton State Forest, which is perhaps my favorite road in all of Vermont. The pavement isn't that great, but man, what a great road!
So... would people be willing to schlep up north to a run that starts at I-91 exit 17? Mapquest puts Wells River, VT at 2 hours 17 minutes from Nashua, so it's not that far away from most of you.
Then, a route... Doing a Kanc loop is a
long drive, and we hit the Kanc on MoT. Perhaps I can make up a good loop heading west and through Groton State Forest. I haven't investigated the area northeast of Groton much - so I don't have a return after hitting 302 west to 232 north to route 2. We'd need something east and then back south... Anybody know anything out there? Sheena? Most of the smaller roads in that part of the state are dirt, which makes life more difficult for route planning.
A quick check of the atlas shows in that general area lots of Barnets (must be a misspelling), Harvey's Lake, Mosquitoville, Ticklenaked Pond... how can you resist such things?
