Who was it in MoT '03 who left much of the skin from his arm on the Alpine Slide?

I don't know (didn't have my MINI 'till 9/03), but my wife Donna left a good chunk of her arm and her face on it last year. I can't believe it actually healed OK in a few weeks; looked scary enough that visions of ambulances were dancing in my head.

BTW,is anyone going to do something a little safer on Sunday, say that elusive hike to Arethusa Falls?

Saturday Morning Caravans -- T&C to Loon

This year the MOT Organizers have arranged for several Saturday Morning MINI "wagon trains" to lead folks from the T&C to the Loon Lot. It is hoped that these caravans will help anyone who is new to the Gorham/Lincoln route or anyone who just wishes to "join-in" for the 1 hour trip to the morning festivities.

Note that these caravans will maintain an easy pace to the Loon Lot; "spirited" driving will be available at events later in the day.

The caravans will be leaving every half hour between 7:00 am and 8:30 am from the T&C and will be led by the following folks:

7:00 Theo & Carol (Theo)
7:30 <need a volunteer!>
8:00 John & Gayle O'Bryan (Dracman)
8:30 Ian & Margaret Cull (GBMINI)

(Note that we are looking for a 7:30 am volunteer leader who knows the route.)

For those folks who are staying at the other lodging spots in and around Gorham, you will need to join the caravans at the T&C, as they will be making a direct flight to Loon. Plan to arrive early and have breakfast or a spot of tea in the T&C dining room before the caravan departure.

The caravans will be lining up in the T&C parking lot and will leave promptly at their appointed time. Should you miss your original departure time, just hang around and socialize for a half-hour!

Remember, the last caravan leaves at 8:30 am so after that, you're on your own!

Let me know if you wish to volunteer to lead the 7:30 am caravan...

Theo

As an alternative to the great after-Loon drives that we have enjoyed for the past 4 MOTs. We are going to check out Castle in the Clouds instead.
info here: http://www.castleintheclouds.org/
Check out the website, although we've never been there ourselves, we hear the roads are wonderfull for MINIs and the castle is beautiful.
You'll need to bring lunch, however there is a place there to pick up some food, and we'll work in a stop to pick up lunch on the way.

Let us know if you're interested, everyone is welcome.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have been given strict orders to go to MOT and take lots of pictures! So if anyone still has an open seat for the mountain, let me know.

Angela,
I have an extra ticket for an adult to go up as a passenger (Evan's buddy can't come this year). You are welcome to it and can ride w/ who ever you want to bum a ride with. Not that we wouldn't love to have you as a passenger, but just letting you know that you can ride w/ other less threatening people if you chose to. Or you might find someone w/ an empty front seat. Anyway, the ticket is yours if you want it.

Thanks Steve. Hopefully someone will have any empty front seat so we'll see.
