The thought and sentiment are appreciated Bert, but the Bill's Bills appeal will remain seperate from MOT efforts.

There would only be one MINI given out in the dice game. Yes, there would be a 300 roll limit, as far as the MINI goes, but rolls could continue for MINI swag if the dealer agrees to this.

Certainly the odds of winning a free MINI will be 1:46656. But this game was not suggested as a way to help individuals easily win a free MINI; it was designed to raise money for the MOT Charity.

In addition, New Country is showing a keen interest in our event and the desire to "join" the MINI community, and is willing to absorb all the costs for this. I welcome this sort of sponsor interest and wish that we could get more businesses interested in helping out.

Good point! The object is not to win a MINI, but to raise money for the MOT charity.

Charging less than a minimum $5 per roll makes it almost pointless - you'd probably raise less than the insurance cost for running the event!

This is why we need lots of discussion!

I'm wondering what kind of insurance are we talking about. Insurance for getting hit by the dice?

BTW, called T&C and the man said: "Which MINI group are you with, MINIs on Top or the New England MINIs?"

Huh?

$5 *and* a limit of 300 rolls..? That seems a bit limiting.
Limiting with respect to only raising $1500 for the charity - how does this compare to what we've raised in the past? I concede that the time constraints may limit the number of rolls, but it seems very artificial to put a cap on it.
But mainly limiting with respect to reducing the already small odds that someone will win. The only winner in this (as in life in general) will be the insurance company. Is it the insurance co who are imposing the 300 roll limit?

From an organizational point of view, you could have multiple tables all rolling 6 dice each, but you just know that people would think that the result of one table would somehow affect the result on another...

What happens if the winning roll occurs on multiple tables at the same time? Are multiple MINIs given away?

We supply cars at different country clubs in our area for a chance to win one if someone gets a hole in one.We mostly doanate a Mercedes-Benz,pay a few hundred dollars for an insurance policy and usually nobody wins.If someone does get a hole in one they win the car and we get paid for it by the insurance company .

An airbag exploding and spraying the dice all over the Loon Lot so that the game of chance can't continue!

Can we put the dice rolling table (s) in the bar? I don't wanna get run over by one of those crazy mini people while crossing the parking lot.

This is exactly the way this is being structured. The insurance company reimburses New Country if the car is won. The 300 roll limit is imposed by the insurance company. There would be only one table and only one winning MINI.

I can envision the booth being at the Loon lot AND the Base. And, if I were a charity, I'm not sure I'd refuse $1,500 as a gift. The raffles have raised more than double this amount, if memory serves (Ian?).

Let's hear your suggestions for raising an additional $1,500 for MINIs On Top. The dice game may not be the way to go, but I'd be interested in someone stepping-up with an alternate plan and, at the same time, expressing the willingness to take-on the commitment to work over the next 5 months to make it happen.

- How about a hole-in-one contest on the golf course next to the T&C?

- How about guessing the exact temperature and windspeed at the stroke of sunset on Saturday night? $10 a guess...winner gets $100?

The 1 in 46,000 chance that someone actually wins. That way New Country don't actually have to pay for the car, they just pay the insurance premium.
