A Boot Sale is like a Tag or Garage Sale, but all the items being sold by a single seller must be able to be transported in the boot of his/her MINI. The Boot Sale will take place at the Loon Mountain lot between 8:00am and 11:30am on Saturday, June 16th. This year, we will allow one table or one tarp laid on the ground in front of the boot of the parked MINI for display purposes.
While a basic MINI theme should prevail for most of the items being sold, other items may be included like books, magazines, crafts, baked goods, and other treasures. Items for sale must not be hazardous; for example: no weapons, no fireworks, no WMD, and other such stuff.
We ask all sellers to observe the follow rules for displaying their treasures:
your display surface must not exceed 4' by 4'
the display surface, and the objects on it must not present a hazard to children, pets, or wild revelers
signs will be allowed, but cannot exceed the height/width of a raised MINI hatch door
no tents or framed shelters may be erected/used
all display equipment and signs must also fit in the interior of the MINI
You do not need to formally register in advance as a Boot Seller, just indicate that you are planning on being a seller in a post to this thread. A list of potential sellers will be kept and updated on this first post.
When you arrive at the Loon Lot, show your MOT2007 registration tag to the Traffic Control "Guide", and tell her/him that you will be a seller at the Boot Sale. She/he will direct you to the appropriate Loon Lot entrance where you will be parked with the other Boot Sellers.
You should plan to arrive by about 8:00 in the morning at the Loon Lot, since the MINIs will be leaving for the day's drives after the drivers' meeting at 11:30am. You may also continue the Boot Sale in the parking lot of the Auto Road later in the day, but a separate Boot Sale area will not be defined there.
All Boot Sellers are encouraged to remember the MOT 2007 Charity, Rosie's Place.
Ah Ha! I get it. {showing old-timer's disease again!}
Well, she will have more boot area, but all will be equal outside of the boot! Hey, what do they call the boot in Japan...is it a derivation of "boot" or of "trunk"...maybe "wayback"?
I will ask one of my international students at 10:00 today.
