The MINIs-only ADSS event is scheduled for Sunday July 15, starting at 8 am. I'll be there too, but we may need Mr. Freeze to ice over the skid pad on that day. Water is the next best thing!

Anyone know if it's ok to do the driving school in a convertible?

I'm sure it's fine! The only concerns the organizers have are with very tall vehicles with a high center of gravity leading to possible instability - like SUVs.

There's no way you'll reach any sort of speed on this event where you could even consider turning over a MINI, with or without roof

As fas as I know (and can determine from the websites), convertibles are allowed at the ADSS schools, like this one.

For HPDE (High Performance Driver Education) events which are held on the tracks, convertible MINIs are not allowed without a rollbar, and the stock hoops don't count.

If you cannot make it that weekend, attend any of the other ADSS events put on by either the Boston or White Mountain BMWCCA chapters. it's actually interesting to see other cars out there instead of just MINIs.

I'll be at one coming up on April 7th. I even talked two (maybe three) other people from work to head down with me.
