Well, its finally time to take the snow tires off and shake the cobwebbs from our MINIs! Spring is here (or trying to get here) and it only be formidable to have a fun run to welcome it back!
Armen(Kriation) and I drove around some lovely scenic roads out in Acton/Boxborough/Maynard/Stow area and thought it would be a great run with MINIs (few stop signs and hardly any traffic).
There have been some slight changes to the run! Please read for updates!
When: Saturday, April 28th, 2007, Meet up at 11am, at the K-Mart parking lot behind the McDonalds on Rt. 27/Main St. right after the intersection of of Rt. 111 in Acton, MA What: MINI Run and then a visit up to The Butterfly Place in Westford, MA found here: Butterflies surround you at The Butterfly Place, Westford, Massachusetts
I went two months back to The Butterfly Place and it was really amazing to see the butterflies floating around... really really cool in my book! (and a balmy 82ish degrees inside!)
We decided just to make the run a run, without the scavenger hunt part.
BUT! We will be stopping in at the Minute Man Air Field which is conveniently located along the run for an early lunch before we head off to the Butterfly Place. There is a great little cafe which we discovered was rated as a "hidden gem" by the Phantom Gourmet. Their website can be found here: Nancy's Airfield Cafe We had gone for breakfast and it was quite delicious!
So come! It will be entertaining and a really great run!
I added it to the calendar.
Not sure if I will be able to attend yet, especially if I end up heading to syracuse for the weekend for that run on sunday.
Count Nancy and myself in, sounds like a great warm-up run for the MOT! Hopefully by then we'll have the snow tires off. Just got the third snow storm in 3 weeks!
Ok, so the snow tires might be off by then, but maybe I'll want to strap some pontoons to the MINI. Deja-vu from last years mother day flood. Bridges and roads washed out everywhwere around here. Didn't think I was going to get home from work today. At one point today, all possible roads leading to my house were closed.
Here's some pics we shot before it got too dark......

Scho06, if all roads to your home were closed, how did you get home? By climbing? Wow, the roads really look bad in the photos! If you didn't tell us about the flooding, one would think there was an earthquake!
At one point while I was at working all roads were closed to my house. By the time I left luckily Rte 9 had opened up so that I could at least take the long way home. My usual route (rte 43) looks to be out of commission for a while, a few bridges washed away. Looks like I get to add 15 minutes of motoring to my commute.......yipeeee!!!! Here's a few more pics......
1st pic is Lee traffic circle Rte4/Rte125 2nd pic is Rte 202 about a mile from my house 3rd & 4th pic is Rte 43/107 junction just south of the Deerfield Fair grounds (How I usually get to work to Manchvegas)
I just made a service appointment at Peabody for noon on the 28th. So, I'll be in the area (ish), any way I can be picked up / dropped off at Peabody so I can be a passenger on the run while my airbag light gets turned off?
