| Resident Panpsychist | Pick Your Route From A51 to Gorham! As you know by now, the merged YC/A51 caravan will depart from Area 51 for Gorham at 2:00 pm. Instead of one large caravan, we have put together 4 different routes for separate mini-caravans to follow: Route 1 - Direct to Gorham (~2.0 hrs) Route 2 - Kanc/Bear Notch to Gorham (~2.5 hrs) Route 3 - Golden Pond to Gorham (~3.0 hrs) Route 4 - Polar Caves to Gorham (~3.5 hrs) Click on the route names above to see PDF versions of the route maps and driving directions. More information about each route can be found at the YC/A51 web site on THIS page. Please review each of these four routes and decide which one you would be interested in taking. Make sure you print-out the PDF so that you have the information with you in your MINI. The mini-caravans will depart in Route order starting at 2:00. Leaders for the first three routes are as follows: Route 1: Theo & Carol (Theo) Route 2: Chip Slattery (chs4) Route 3: Angus Crowe (Jet Panther) Route 4: <leader needed> Thanks! | Resident Panpsychist | Well, the Kanc/Bear Notch Route comes to mind when I think "spirited". However, an overriding concern on Friday will be the care needed for the traffic conditions that weekend. Remember that it is the last weekend of Bike Week and, traditionally, the roads are packed with folks going to and from the Laconia area. We have had an outstanding safety record over the last four years (the odd moose and porcupine notwithstanding) and I'd hate to see any of us take risks during the fifth year. That being said, it will be up to the Route Leader to set the pace and expectations for their route. I will be leading the direct route and we will be traveling at a brisk but safe pace. Offline | The Kanc/Bear Notch Route will follow similar guidelines. While it won't necessarily be a "Sunday drive", it will be at a pace that is safe and comfortable for all involved. ![]() |

| Resident Panpsychist | Attention Yankee Candle Folks: YC to A51 Route Changes Folks, A couple of updates/corrections to the YC to A51 Route have been made. Please access/print this newest version! The new Route Instructions now reflect: (1) our 11:00 departure time from Yankee Candle; (2) a "catch-up" point on Rt 9 in Keene to collect those caravan members interrupted by the rotary construction at the Rt 10/101/9 crossroads in Keene; (3) the I-89 construction reported by Beth. Please print these latest instructions and bring them with you to Yankee Candle. Thanks, Theo ![]() "The nice thing about Alzheimer's is you get to hide your own Easter eggs." - John McCain |

| Resident Panpsychist | Thursday Night Red Roof Departure Time Adjustment I'd like to allow us a little more time to get to Smokin' Lil's from the Red Roof Inn, especially since we will be walking from the parking garage to the restaurant. Therefore, I'd like to move-up our departure time from the Red Roof Inn to 6:45 sharp. I hope that this does not inconvenience folks too much. I realize that some of you are already on the WNY caravan so I will call Cathleen to let her know.
