I was a Town Crier in a previous incarnation, so no worries. I just need to find the bell.

YC/A51 Route 2 - Kanc/Bear Notch to Gorham - Additional Info

Just wanted to touch base with everyone planning to take the Kanc/Bear Notch route to Gorham .

As the directions indicate we will be heading up Rt.93 with our first (only?) stop at Exit 32 in Lincoln. Muncie's Shell / Convenience store is located just as we exit, and this is a good opportunity to grab some gas, a quick snack or a beverage.

Rather than trying to all stay together at this point I'm proposing we do as we did last year and plan to meet up at the Loon parking lot about 1/2 hour after we exit Rt.93. The Loon lot is on the right-hand side about 2.5mi from the exit straight down Rt.112.

This 1/2 hour "free time" will serve a couple of purposes:

1. Parking is limited at Muncie's, and if we all try to jam their lot it will be quite a mess. If you need gas or something from the store please feel free to stop, but do not feel obligated to do so because you see others stopping

2. There are several other places along Rt.112 where you can grab something to eat, including the ever popular Kimberlee's Deli, and this free time will allow folks to grab a bite to eat at the place of their choosing, rather than having to "follow the pack".

MOT Tip-of-the-Day: Kimberlee's will take orders on Friday for pick up Saturday morning, so if you are looking for a sandwich/salad for lunch during the Saturday afternoon drives this is a very convenient (and popular!) option. It's not a bad idea to get your order in early!

Once we have reconvened at the Loon lot we'll have some time to eat/mingle/stretch before heading off to Gorham. We're not on a strict schedule so the day will ebb and flow based on the members of our particular group. Even with the brief stopover in Lincoln I think we will still make the 2.5-3 hour time as outlined in the directions.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to email/PM me. I'm also more than happy to provide my cell# to anyone that would like it...just ask and I'll get it to you.

Chip, Can we make you the official Loon Lot Intelligence Scout? We need to have some idea of what else might be using up lot space, so we can adjust plans for Saturday accordingly. Depending on my schedule, I may not make it by there oin Friday (or I may be there waiting for you -- it's my spontaneity day).

Sure thing. I'll survey the scene and report in Friday night.

Take note that the earlier in the evening you find me the more accurate my report may be...

Cancellation notice: We have to cancel our entire MOT2007 weekend trip. That's right, a family emergency came up that means we will have to stay home through the June 15-16-17 weekend.

Sorry, we will not be able to join up with the caravan at Area 51.

Maybe next year.

Well, I waited at Area 50.5 until 12:38 but then had to leave. Bikers couldn't understand the huge red and black fish with the banner .....NO COD LEFT BEHIND

The reactions of all the bikers that were at A51 while we were there was classic. It was awesome driving into the rest stop, and seeing the line of MINIs.

As soon as I get my pics up, I'll have to post them.

Thanks to Theo and Carol for another excellent YC/A51 event. Attention to detail including the bag of 'goodies' for each participant at Yankee Candle goes far beyond the call of duty and was very much appreciated. EXCELLENT JOB. THANK YOU .

Full credit for the "MINI Bags" goes to coordinators Jeff (hwy61) and Patty West. And, yes, they outdid themselves! Thank you Jeff and Patty!

Thanks, Patty & Jeff, for the Mini bags! The Mini Pringles are cheering me up right now, to help ward off the post-MOT blues.

Jeff - Next time I have a request for a special baggie...
But let me 'spain somthin' - You just don't start with the munchie food first!

Even still - Thanks to all-
Pam and I had a great time and that makes it worth driving an hour and a half out of our way.

We return you now to the regularly scheduled program Nigel the Silver

Mike , I did include your " special baggie " in your goodie bag , wait a minute , I did give the bag to Pam .... hmm ?

YC was a lot of fun, Theo & Carol did most of the work , big applause to them !!! But most of all , as usual , it's everyone's friendly , fun vibes that makes it shine !!!

How can you be in two places at once, when you're not anywhere at all ?

Jeff - I think I have the missing baggie...well....what's left of it. Can you actually plant those seeds?

Jon,

Welcome!

We will be cranking-up the threads for MINIS On Top 2008 shortly! There will be a new YC/A51 Caravan thread and I encourage you to post to it once it appears.
