Unhappy Lightning CAN strike twice.. HJ and Terry under water.. AGAIN!

Hey ya'll... just drove by Harvey's on the way home from work and saw their neighborhood was flooded so I gave them a call. They've got about 3 feet of water in their first floor , he said he's got about 15k in flooring that is going to be ruined not to mention the new walls, appliances, etc.. Harvey and Terry are, however, ok and safe at a neighbors for the time being.

Harvey asked me to post this and let you all know what was up, in case anyone wanted to try to get ahold of him.

Harvey and Terry have no computer right now so pm me or someone who knows their phone number and I'll gladly give it to you (with his approval).

Thanks,

Derek

Oh no...and I was just on his website looking at the almost-finished pics of their house this morning!
We never did put a run together to help them out like we originally wanted to, perhaps it is time.

And Derek, we'd love to hear from you more as well!

Yikes...we were just wondering yesterday if they were OK. If there's anything we can do to help, just let us know.

Jeez, not again! I was thinking of them earlier today and wondering if they got flooded again. My heart goes out to them! Yes a benefit run would be good.

thanks for the update , Derek. Glad to know you are still around. I was at MoP this afternoon and got the word from Gary about Harvey and Terry, seems Harvey had called to cancel a service appt. ....can't imagine why. Crap, why does such bad stuff happen to such good people? I second the stilt suggestion , or pontoons, or maybe a new location altogether, water views are great, but...................

out of my mind.........back in five minutes.

This is horrible news. My thoughts are with you not for the first time today, Harvey and Terry.

Floodwaters suck! I just lost paintings, prints, drawings, and a train set to this one. I used to love rain.

You'll see me at the benefit run.

Josh and Jock.. yeah I'm still around, not so much online anymore though.. just had a really major tragedy in my own personal life, so you probably won't hear a whole helluva lot from me on here, but I'll definately be around... Just got back from Florida, had to say goodbye to one of my best friends. She graced my life for the last 20 years or so and had a wikked bad psychotic break. not a happy ending to the story..

needless to say, I'll be there for Harvey and Terry.. ya learn some lessons when someone that close to you decides to arrange their own trip skyward.. friends are an indispensible commodity. I greatly urge anyone who calls Harvey and Terry "friend" to do what they can to help, even if it's just a phone call or a shoulder to cry on.. you never know when the good lord's gonna take over that job for you..

Only update I have at the moment, I just drove past their place to go to the store and it looks like they've got a National Guard truck and some cops and the Salvation Army hanging out at the entrance to the island. There were some people canoeing out towards the houses, so I'm assuming they're not entirely cut off from the outside. That's always a good thing (hope they had beer and chocolate in the canoe for HJ and TL )

TTYL,
Derek

That's horrible about Harvey and Terry. All that hard work, totally ruined once again. It makes us all realize how little we measure up to mother nature.

I'd be more than willing to offer my help to assisting them this time around. I have only met them a total of two times, but they seem like such wonderful people.

Ohmigod!

Harvey and Terry were just on Channel 5 - what incredible video! House up 4', still not clad with siding, video of the kitchen with items underwater or floating!

Harvey noted they were told that they should only experience flooding once in one hundred years but they've been flooded twice in one year. So, he said, "Does that make me 200 years old?"

I'm sure you agree that w hatever we can do, we will.

Took me a while but I found it here, a minute or two in.
It's good to see their faces again...I just wish under more fortunate circumstances.
Enough of this bad news already, we need some sunshine and good news.
And please anyone let us know how we can help out. My offer still stands from a year ago.
