This year's Finger Lakes Mini Run will be Sunday, August 19th. We'll meet in Geneva NY (for anyone coming from the north side of Watkins Glen) and then drive to Watkins Glen International Racetrack for paced laps.

(NOTE- change of start point from the previous years start at the outlet mall- Wegmans actually wants us to come!)

Drive to Watkins Glen Racetrack for track laps at noon (3 paced laps, $25, may buy tickets in advance via Glen website or by phone, or at the gate)



Anyone coming from the south is welcome to meet us at Watkins Glen- we'll aim to be at the 3rd gate (main ticket office) @ 11:30 AM before heading down to the main gate.

Hi YellowMiniNY, how about if my wife and I join you for the Finger Lakes Run? I've now booked the motel for Saturday night so if all goes well I'll be back in the area again but this time clean-shaven and after only a 6-hour drive. Your Yellow Ducky will also be along for the ride. Now I can put your NY map to good use again - I'll definitely take Rt. 20 rather than I-90, that's far more of a fun drive.

The Wegmans and the motel are on Route 20, so that should be a direct (and scenic) route! I'm going to try to come up with a plan for Saturday night dinner somewhere if there's interest, and there is a drive in movie theater in Auburn (also on Route 5&20), though it starts around 9 pm. (Which might be past my bed time!)

Good news. We'll be there again! Laurie got the time off so we'll be heading out from Buffalo. Now to see if we can get into the Marx Hotel again.

RT 20, the previous NYS Thruway, is definitely a fun ride. We do it every once in awhile on our trek to my mother's house.

ooo im up for din din and a movie... Joe's Pasta Garage in Skaneateles was Really nice to us when we went there for the Skaneateles Lake run (June 2nd), the owner let us park on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant...check out the pics ...it looked hot.....

Just reserved a room at the Seneca Falls Microtel.

I love Skaneateles, but we can poll the out of town crowd on dinner, depending on who wants to go for another drive. Abigail's Restaurant next to the Microtel has hosted a few Mini lunches and dinners over the years, and can handle a crowd. We've got some good options....

We're aiming to make it this year and are thinking of spending Sat night down there to avoid a too early Sunday AM. Is the Microtel the place of choice to stay?
