Stowe, just off the Mountain Road (Rt 108). Here.

Confused!
That's not where it was last year is it (on the left a long way out of town).
So if it's different to last year, then why does it say "This will be the fourth year at our new location"?

Is it walking distance from the Olde England Inn? That would be good so that Margaret can head off back to our room while GPMINI stays on the field ... saves bringing two cars up from Boston!

Ian C. Gloucester, MA, USA (UK expat) driving GPMINI or a non-MINI!

If it's not raining tomorrow, I'll wash it... and do some cleaning on the inside of the car.

Did they lower the redline RPM on the new engine? The rev limiter seemed to kick in a little sooner than I was expecting.

It looks like they are back to the same place they were before last year (see here). Not sure why they are so confusing about it, they say "new location for 2007" then they say it's the 4th year. Apparently they don't mean "in a row". Oh well. But it is walking distance from the Ye Olde.

There seems to be all sorts of confusion with the British Invasion. There are several notes around the website saying that all registrations have to be done as pre-registration and that they've discontinued registering at the field, yet the registration from has field registration on it. Wierd. So what time does this shin-dig start, the only information I couldn't get off the website.

If you're showing your car, you need to be there by some slightly early time (10:00). Otherwise, it doesn't really matter much. I was planning on a noon-ish arrival.

The awards ceremonies begin at 2:30 for the super fancy cars, and 3:0 for everyone else. We usually try to leave as soon as we can after the MINI awards are announced, cause we're inconsiderate like that. And, we want to be able to do a little driving before dinner.

Maybe because of the turbo, it revs up and gets there faster? In my Audi S6 (20v turbo) it hits redline 7,200 rpms pretty quickly. Even on my R53, redline does sneek up quickly.

I'm heading up to Stowe at 4:30 this afternoon to pick up several registration packets. Weather forcast calls for rain tonight at 8pm, 100% showers tomorrow at 59 deg. Vermont fall brrrr'ness.

Cheers, Thompson

Who's bringing an easy-up (shelter / canopy thing)? I don't have one, or I would bring it. The forecast doesn't look that great.

I might head outside soon to clean the wheels of the new car. I don't think I'm going to do the full wash, though.

We have to bring huts? I have one of them if need be I can bring it. Doesn't that defeat the whole walking around thing, or is this for your car?

I was just thinking that if it is raining all morning / afternoon, it would be nice to have someplace dry to sit that is not inside a car or inside the vendor tents (where everyone else ill be). We should be able to make some space between some of the MINIs on the field to set up a small canopy to huddle under.

But maybe the rain will stop.
