The Sox are doing the "Futures at Fenway" thing again this year, featuring their Single-A and Double-A affiliates playing at Fenway. Minor league ball in a major league park. This year's doubleheader features the Hudson Valley Renegades vs the Lowell Spinners at 12:05pm followed by the Portland Sea Dogs vs the Harrisburg Senators. Tickets are pretty reasonable by Fenway standards, from $5 for Upper Bleacher to $30 for Pavilion Club seats. I'm not sure I could sit still long enough to make it all the way thru both games, but at that price, who cares. It would make for a fun day out, anyhow. Any interest from anyone?

I'm interested, but I think I've got some folks coming in from out of town. I could possibly come down for a couple of hours of the first game, not sure. If you go for the cheap seats, I'd consider buying one or two to hedge my bet.

So here's the latest: An individual can buy up to 8 tickets. I'm sure that the group sales office would be happy to accommodate us if we have more than that. Here's a chart of the seating options and the prices...

Green Monster and Infield Box (yellow and dark purple) are sold out, it appears. Outfield bleacher seats are okay, although you're pretty far from the action and you'll be baking in the sun all day. Loge Box and Infield Grandstand are nicer. I've never been in the Right Field Roof Box, but I've heard it's neat. I've been in the Pavilion Club once (for a Sox / Yanks game in April), that was very cool, too. Any thoughts?

Whatever's clever. Louis asked for a switch from working Sundays to working Saturdays. It hasn't happened yet but he doesn't know when it's going to happen. So if he's here then he'll go. If not I'll be flying solo.

That would indeed be quite cool, but unfortunately I don't think those are available. In "Fenway-ese" a box is just an expensive seat. The sort of thing your talking about is a "private suite", those aren't for sale as far as I know (the people who "own" them get them for the entire year, for every event that happens at Fenway, including concerts, etc.). But the Pavilion Club does have a fancy restaurant and special concession stands that the "riff-raff" can't get to (and thus shorter lines).

In this cross section, the "private suites" are at the bottom, above that are the "Pavilion Club" seats (the first five rows) and the "Pavilion Box" seats (the back five rows).

I think they call them boxes because they are fenced-off little sections of about 20 seats or so. The fence is just a small railing.
