Thanks, Jason. I put an email into CarboTech but haven't had a reply yet.
I ran the Panther XP Plus or 10 (or something like that) on the STI and they were great pads.
Miss those big-azz Brembos and being able to change the pads in about 90 seconds flat.

From the GP owners forum:
The "list price" for the Carbotech pads (price per pair) that fit the GP:

front Bobcat $131
rear Bobcat $116
front XP8 $154
rear XP8 $139
front XP10 $167
rear XP10 $159

'07 MINIs I believe are same basic brakes as GP (ie: JCW).

Don't get the pads for a Bobcat though - they probably won't fit..!

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my registration for the on-track portion of this event. But, I still have the day off from work. Perhaps I'll head down to spectate.

Does anyone have any details on the schedule for the non-track stuff? I'd like to head down to take the new car on a skidpad, so I need to know when that will happen.

Looks like I misinterpreted "Event highlights: These events will be held throughout the day and are complimentary to all attendees!

Advanced Driver Skills School: A series of driving exercises including wet skid pad, emergency lane change, threshold braking and slalom obstacles."

I thought I could just show up and attend to complimentary ADSS / skidpad thing. I just got an email that includes "If you signed up for the ADSS (Advanced Drivers Skill School) please be at the track 30 minutes prior to your session (8AM or 10AM)."

So... I hope I can get the new car on a skidpad even though I haven't "signed up" and do not have an assigned session.

Or, should I just skip the trip to NHIS tomorrow?

Jason we're going to be lost without you there! Here's some couraging excerpts from the email I received today, looks like you can at least autocross:

"If you have not signed up for a specific event you are still welcome to come for a fun day of activities.

AUTOCROSS (1PM to 4PM)
Test your skills driving around the pylons on our autocross course. We have Boston BMW CCA instructors there to help you find the fast way around the course or to drive you around if you would like. No experience required!

HOT LAPS” (9AM to 4PM)
Catch a ride with one of the BMW CCA Instructors in a BMW 3-Series, BMW 5-Series, MINI, or the MINI of Peabody/HMS Motorsport race car. ...

TEST DRIVES
Our friendly sales staff will be trackside with a number of demonstrator cars for you to test drive – not on the track – but on the scenic roads near the track. If you have been looking to try out that new model – now is the time!"

I plan to get to NHIS around 10am and see what's going on ... if it's dull, we can always go elsewhere - maybe practise some of Brians car shots

I'm heading down. I hope to be able to get some skidpad time in, even though I didn't sign up for the ADSS part of the day. I will autocross, if nothing else. And take pictures...

Oh, sure, since I'm working! If you can still find it, the September issue of evo magazine (UK, of course) has a 4-Lamborghini shootout. There are some great shots in there that I'm taking some inspiration from.

Is anyone else addicted to UK magazines? evo and Practical Photography are the two I try to grab every month (the date they go out on the newsstand is ephemeral at best). I found both at Barnes and Noble today and ended up dropping nearly $21. On two magazines. Well worth it, of course, but still...
