FWIW: If you are wondering about the associated fee to join the tour: 1. Cape Cod MINI's know how to feed you and we don't mean maybe; 2. Any residual funds after the feed and hall rental go to charitable causes; 3. You get to see me.

Libbil, we want to go on the Lighthouse tour! But first my hubby has to talk with his boss about not having to work that weekend. This tour would be great!
As far as I know gin is the latest marinade for said Cod.

has Ocean front rooms for $100/night. It is very close to Patriot Square in South Dennis and there is a great restaurant next door.
FYI there is truth to the rumor that I WILL be making the infamous brownies for the buffet.

I'm wondering if any Boston-area folks wanted to carvan down that morning. Right now the meet up spot is in the air, just let me know if you're interested.
Heading down from New Brunswick early Friday morning. Figure we should hit the Boston area between 2-3pm Friday afternoon on the 28th. We're open to any and all suggestions as to the best way to either go through or around Boston at that time of day.
Looking forward to our first visit to Cape Cod. Also, we are contemplating a trip to Martha's Vinyard on the Saturday. Is it best to visit with or without a car and is there anything to see there of real interest. We're not familiar with the area a all.
Guess we'll have to order in some fatback sandwiches and jelly donuts for Diana and Brian
Yes, you should take your car to the Vineyard. It's a good sized island and to enjoy it you'll want to be driving. You'll get the ferry out of Woods Hole and be on island in 45 minutes. Round trip at that time of year for car and two passengers is about $160-. The Steamship Authority, Serving the Islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket for fares and schedules. Reservations are a must unless you want to chance stand-by for getting the car on the fery. If you chose to not take the car over there is a place in Vineyard Haven that rents MINIs but not sure what they cost....there's also a place in Oak Bluffs that rents sports cars by the day. That would be a hassle though to drive, park, do walk on ferry, walk or taxi to car rental, and then reverse the whole thing.
If they're still open in late Sept. a scenic place for lunch or dinner will be out in Aquinnah at Aquinnah Restaurant. The view makes up for the food although the clam chowder is pretty good. There are lots of places to walk the beach, lots of potters if you're into visiting those types of studios, lots of scenic farms, nice driving. Oak Bluffs will be quiet so that won't be much fun but being a weekend the shops will be open. The Campground in O.B. is fun to visit if you like unusual and Victorian architecture Martha's Vineyard Campmeeting Association
