Sunday October 28th British Summer Time Ends Autumn classic

Weather forecast looks good for this Sunday 28th, WE ARE GOOD TO GO.

This event is not for the faint of heart with mountainous twisty roads, fast sections and several hours non-stop driving. Having said that, it is a beautiful run beginning at 7:30am prompt at Papa Razzi parking lot, 768 Elm Street, Concord MA, located near the Route 2 concord rotary. Two mobil gas stations are nearby to ensure MINIs are fully tanked before departure,THE MOBIL HAS A BATHROOM, total trip mileage close to 300 miles.

Route 119 is the primary route and was MA first designated state highway in 1894 and is locally known as Great Road. We shall pass through the towns of North Acton, Groton, Townsend, Ashby at a slow pace then heading into NH taking in the towns of Fitzwilliam, Winchester, Hinsdale. Arriving at the gateway to VT, Brattleboro on Route 9 westbound passing by Marlboro, Wilmington, Searsburg and making an about turn at The Top Notch Diner, 1042 Main Street Bennington, VT. Heading east we backtrack until Searsburg and take route 8 southbound to North Adams,MA having lunch around 11:00am at the Museum of Contempary Arts, 87 Marshall Street, North Adams, MA. The Cafe includes Herrells ice cream on their menu. Departing the museum at 12:30pm we head northbound on Route 8 and then east on Route 9, stopping for 30mins to take in Hogback Mountain and it's views. The day will conclude back in Nashoba Valley at British Delights store around 4:00pm, with a chance to stock up on British foods, drinks and gifts until store closing at 5pm.

Folks are welcome to join from the beginning or tag on along the route. I shall update the forum page to indicate if event will go ahead depending upon weather conditions. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask. One thing for sure is Diapers are not provided!

I think 7:30am is not an unreasonable time to meet at Papa Razzi, folks meeting for MAMA 5 will probably meet up around that time too at the same location. When I did the maple run I was away for 7am. I appreciate it gets more difficult as the years go by to drag yourself out of bed, but it is usually worth the effort with these runs.

Strangely on the saturday the weather in Burlington was really nice.
