Offline | faster than a Maxima It's not that I'm a kid (49) but sometimes you just want some respect. So some jerk cuts behind me into my blinking lane as we get onto 128/95n from 93s. I bide my time behind him in the left lane unti the traffic opens up at the 95/128 split in Peabody. I pressed the sport button and pulled into the far right lane and passed him. He passed me in the middle lane and pulled in front of me. ****ed off I passed him as we raced onto the Centenial Drive exit. Game over, sit behind me at the lights Maxima Jerk. ![]() MINI S ROCKS Am I the only one that feels challanged by other drivers? |

Offline | I have a new passive aggressive game I like to play here in Holden. The main drag has always been a drag -jammed during rush hours. They have repaved and widen the road so that there are double lanes that are arranged to allow to make a left without blocking the already congested traffic. They have also doubled the lanes at lights also allowing a proper queue for the left. Some have decided that if you shoot out from the back of the lineyou can cut off four maybe five cars and then cause a complete halt of all traffic as you force yourself back in when the lane ends. So now I line up beside the last car and match their speed and we all move merrily (albeit slowly) along and nobody cuts (gawd - sometimes it's just like the lunch line in jr high) We return you now to the regularly scheduled program Nigel the Silver |

![]() Pirates in my ear | There are many little games to play on my new commute. There's Frontage Rd, before you get to the Q Bridge. 3 lanes down to 2, and immediately after the right lane merges in is an on-ramp. Brilliant planning People like to fly up the right lane and then cut in at the last second, which I make it my goal to prevent them from doing. Getting over the bridge is another exercise in futility. On the way home, my exit ramp has two lanes to go left, and a lane to turn right. When you go left, it actually turns into 3 lanes, one a left turn, the middle to go straight, or the right to go straight or turn right. Needing to make that right, I do the proper thing, and stay in the middle lane on the ramp. But there are those people that just have to go up the far left lane, then try to cut into the line of cars trying to make the right. Sorry, pal. I wasn't saving that spot for you. |

Offline | Might be the same folks who are unable to read the sign(s) that say "lane ends - merge ____" and try to become more important than everyone else by risking everyone's welfare by pulling over at the last second. Reminds me of the husband who had been unable to father children so he went to the doctor and never came home - Later the wife sees him on the corner standing in front of a white Escalade wearing a white suit and white tie. She sez: What happened to you? He sez: The doctor sez I'm impotent so I dressed impotent. Offline | Yeah I do the same... Also I like poping up on SUVs from behind...I Hold off before the ramp and give them a GOOD lead... a half way up the ramp lead....and then I catch up to them and pass them just as soon as the ramp gets onto the highway DS DS '06MCS |

Offline | sport mode Good to read that others are having fun maintaining their equal rights to the road. My question is, when should the sport mode be used? I feel like I'm wearing out the the engine if I am in sport mode and not going fast? |

Online | sport mode ? ..............SPORT MODE ?......................I don't neeeeed no stinkin' sport mode ! ![]() I was traveling up Rt 95 a while back and noticed a new Porche Cayman coming up fast in the 4th lane , and wanting a better look I pulled in behind him and followed for a while . As he changed lanes I followed at a respectable distance and we made the trip from Danvers to Newburyport in about 9 minutes. I think he got a charge out of the fact that i was able to keep up. What a fine looking automobile that thing is.........if I weren't headed for the diesel 4x4 land of Costa Rica soon, I might seriously consider one of these cars. ![]() out of my mind.........back in five minutes. |

Offline | On the highway I'm usually happy to let someone else lead (especially Ivan). On a recent return trip from NH I passed a late model pickup truck, north of Concord. He took offense and passed me again, at 100+. All I had to do was pull in behind him and stay close enough to goad him on, so he played rabbit for me for about the next 30 miles, very fast. I'm okay with that. ![]() |

Offline | Venno, I play the same game as you do on the ramp with SUV's. If I'm in front of it, I speed up until I don't see it in the rear view mirror any more. I bet the driver gets puzzled at where did I go! |

| MINI2 Master | I like the SUVs behind, but without speeding up. Simply staying the same speed...no matter the road angle. A fun game I play every day to work on Rt. 1 when they realize if they continue around that curve at 75 mph they can no longer stay upright. Especially when they always seem to operate their vehicle with their cell phone instead of the steering wheel... |
