This might work:

Nono - if you don't go on the trip, you can't stop us from eating each meal at Italian restaurants and proclaiming how authentic it all was.

Question for NoNo: Is Italian food more authentic when the restaurant is French-owned rather than English?

Oooh, that's almost as much fun as intentionally mispronouncing Italian food words to Annette. Or getting all hopped up on a couple bottles of Quist...

Folks,

I've updated the equipment list on Google.

Uptick, please PM or email me with your email address so I can share the list with you, too.

Drivers - IMPORTANT - PM me with your MINI make and year. I haven't approached MOP about spares until I know which ones to ask for.

Also, please verify drivers/copilots:

Benzamg / Geowit

NHRef

Copilot: MinorRoadsKill

Possible driver or copilot: Squid

Lastly, given where everyone is coming from, shall we all meet in Portsmouth? (Except Ross, who will likely drive through Maine.)

Thanks!

Gulf Stream, baby! Just like the Western coast of Norway which is where my last overseas work trip was. Basically stays right around freezing, lots of wind, rainy, sometimes snowy, and not a whole lot of sunshine. Saw the sun once the whole trip. Fortunately, Norway is full of Norwegian women.

If you're planning a trip to the Shetlands, you guys can fly to Scotland and then take a ferry to the Shetlands. Just hopefully not this one.

You get an inkling how Europe filled those boats with Pilgrims:

Go ahead, keep it up. All the more punishment the next time I see you. I know you can't see it, but you're getting the evilest evil eye I can give.

Just after JBR, I registered arcticmini.com for 3 years.

I'm glad that we're still around.

So I renewed today for another 5 years.

Looking forward to ArcticMINI Run VIII in 2013 - Nunavut or bust!

Did you know we'll be traveling to the....

City of Ocean Excellence

WE'RE A LAND OF EXCELLENCE AFLOAT ON A SEA OF POSSIBILITIES

Poised at the brink of the North Atlantic Ocean, St. John's is the heart of Newfoundland and Labrador's 17,000 kilometre coastline. The long maritime history of this distinguished port city stems from a way of life that has always been irrevocably tied to the sea. From this connection, we've drawn on our strength and skills to harness the ocean to its maximum potential - and that potential grows every day. From the fishery and offshore energy industry, to ocean technology and marine biotechnology, local companies have transformed St. John's from a mere port city to a City of Ocean Excellence.

If you plan to go on the trip and are not on this list, please let me know via email or PM so I can update our ferry reservation. And torment the reservation lady some more:

Me: "Hey, can I get a per-foot rate? The MINIs are quite short. And therefore I think the deposit should only be half..."

Avoid The Wreckhouse? How?

BTW, what time can folks be to Portsmouth NH?

I'm an hour away, so have plenty of latitude. Bear in mind that it's about 5 hours to Calais from Portsmouth.
