Finally making time to see everyone's photos. Ross, I like the way yours were organized by day.

BTW, there is plenty of space to the right of your garage to add another bay for a MINI!

Return to Hudson Bay 2010 (and 2011) . . . not

Funny you should mention that. After I file my corporate taxes later today and watch an unexpected $15K walk out the door ( ouch! ), I'm off to the architect's office to craft precisely such an addition.

However, the extra room will more likely house a larger snow blower, and our new Leviathan-sized double stroller.

Reforming my Luddite Ways

Well I've bit the bullet and have a fast lane (ez pass) transponder on order.

I'm starting to look at cell phones. Anyone from our northern adventures want to comment on coverage in Canada with US providers? Who do you like?

Sprint always served me well. If you'll recall, I'm usually the only person with a signal once we're north of Montreal. I remember being able to call from Matagami the first year, if that helps you any.

In case you're having a bit of a post-trip let-down and are hankering for the dulceth sounds of the Newfie accent, here's something to make you feel better: Frozen Waves in Newfoundland - MSN Video

With regard to phone service in Newfoundland, there was no GSM (AT&T/Cingular) service from Port Aux Basques all the way to the outskirts of St. John's. However, there was CDMA (Verizon) available throughout. Elsewhere in populous Canada, both standards are fairly covered. I was roaming with an international voice & data plan.

Great find. Although I've often seen the results, I've never witnessed that much ice action in person.

Wood-and-stone dock cribs always take damage in winter, and now you see why.

Ooooh, lucky me! Funny, I've never looked the word up, so to my ears it always sounded like it was pronounced "dull-SETH". Somehow, "dull-SET" doesn't have the same ring to it.

You should know by now that spelling and pronunciation have no corollary.

The dulcet Newfie accent makes it sound like "dulceth"
