Passport? Folks, Prompted by a question from George, I found info on passport requirements for reentry to the USA at: Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative At this time, a valid drivers license is all that's needed when driving across the border into the USA. Rob's correct, a passport is necessary when flying. And for entry from the USA into Canada, check this site: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_p.../cis_1082.html Basically, all you need is a drivers license to enter Canada from the USA. Don't forget to let your auto insurance company know you'll be driving in Canada. ![]() ![]()

proof of citizenship True, passports are not required for land crossings, at least until June 2009. However, a driver's license is NOT proof of citizenship, which is officially required for both directions of travel. So if you don't bring a passport, bring some other proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate. If you only bring a driver's license, you MIGHT gain entry to Canada, but you could be rejected, or be forced to chug maple syrup, pronounce "about" correctly, renounce any claims of victory in the War of 1812 etc. In this case, stock up on some Timbits for "technical expenditures". Note: if you are a US citizen planning to fly the short hop to St. Pierre (France) from St. John's as your choice of activity, you will need a passport. Canadian citizens only require proof of citizenship. Visit the trip website ArcticMINI.com now now now!

Yes! Oh, you meant the other Peter . . . Actually, to steal his thunder, Peter is planning on Conquering the Cabot! And there may be another driver, too . . . The number of travelers is climbing, the date is getting closer . . . I'm getting psyched! ![]() ![]()

Civic Duty No, not the car! I'm working the polls tomorrow morning (inside the polling place checking in the voters, not outside campaigning for the winner). Actually, I need to be there at 5:45 a.m., so I should head to bed. Anyway, on Tuesday or Wednesday I will contact the Abba B&B to book some rooms. I've asked Ross via PM to check the ferry schedules (thanks, Ross, for clarifying the "entry documents"), so hopefully we'll have an update soon. Pete ![]() ![]()

Ferry Info The updated ferry info is now at ArcticMini.com ferry info Please don't make your own reservation. To join the group reservation, PM or email me your name(s), licence plate (if a driver), and let me know if you want your own cabin, or are willing to share. If you are not certain about going on the trip - it's better to get in the group reservation, and I can make changes later. Visit the trip website ArcticMINI.com now now now!
