Good plan, we'll be there at the agreed-upon time, Pete.

Taking my lead from Adam the AntiqueCarNut, I have reworked his 2007 checklist for our trip this year. The file is on Google so the travelers can collaborate. Please send me a PM with your email address and I'll enable you to read it, add to it and save it.

At the same time, Travelers, please include in your message the name of a contact person back home and that person's phone number as well as the mobile phone number you will be using on the trip.

This information will NOT be in the Google table but put into a separate file that will be shared with all the Travelers.

Don't forget the ID you need to enter Canada and the USA.
Don't forget to have your auto insurance company provide a document with proof the MINI's insured in Canada

The iceman made it back to lab city. Once again excellent writing, pictures. He rode his bike through cold that we were fortunate to avoid (due to excellent trip planning by MinorRoadsKill I'm sure).

First run of 2008 apparel is up on CafePress:
http://www.cafepress.com/lepew

Also trying a rally sticker there -- its only 10"x3" and will require trimming with scissors but its waterproof and on outdoor vinyl and the price is certainly right at $2.99. That's less than what it costs when I make them at home and about 1/8th of what the shop in Montreal charged last year! I'll keep looking for other options for "full size" rally plates (8x15).

If anyone wants a black tee or other merchandise let me know.

I'm still trying to sort my work schedule out, its not hopeless but still looking bad at the moment.

I finally found time to start reading the blog ~ you're absolutely correct, the story, the photos, the writing, the French swears I hadn't heard in years (and didn't know you could write them down without immediately going directly to Hell) are fantastic.

What memories it brings back!

Great work, David! I particularly like the tracing of our voyage in the Cabot Strait. Certainly I am not one to quibble, but . . . Our first dash to the north coast of Newfoundland was left off

And not that I would quibble either, but NHref does bring up a good point. I think it should look more like this, no?
fromort aux basques, to:deer lake, nl to:fleur de lys, nl to:Hawkes Bay, NL - Google Maps

I particularly like the outline for the ferry's voyage.. Is that what this looked like?

Poor David! Trying hard to make the trip, drops everything to revamp the original shirt and sticker in a day for us and then this!

You'll just have to come along now, David, so you can enjoy all this good-natured repartee.

(repartee - that's French but without the accent grave or whatever - I'm still wowed by that biker's trip to HV/GB)

Map on tee and sweat shirts fixed -- I forgot most of you guys pressed on to Hawkes Bay in 2006.

Everytime I see that picture -- I either think of what it must be like to be a cat caught in a washing machine -- or how much I hate runny scrambled eggs!

Hotels are the big cost, I think. Well, yeah, the gas doesn't help either. Or the ferry. Actually, the food is the least of my worries. I could bring a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter and be just fine. And brownies. Gotta have brownies.

We need your photogenic face, NoNo. [insert photo here] The Irish dance instructor who was going to show us around last time is in the process of lining up a TV interview for this year's visit.
