| Susannah - One more post and you can go hog wild! BTW - We made the Manchester Union Leader last Friday - a little blurb apropos our little car - MINI Cooper owners ride to top of Mt. Washington NORTH CONWAY—On June 28 hundreds of MINI Cooper owners met at the base of Mt. Washington and drove up the 7.6 mile Auto Road for the 6th annual MINIsOnTop ride to the summit. The afternoon was dark and foggy, but MINI Cooper owners motored to the top along the serpentine highway, spending time at the summit to meet and talk shop on their favorite model car, the Cooper. Six years after the group formed with its site minisontop.com drivers continue to converge for the event, making it a popular tour of the mountain and charity fundraiser. The auto tour raised $14,131.23 for Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire minus $888.57 (or 6.288 percent, honoring the mountain's elevation) of the take going to Mt. Washington Observatory. | To all who supported MINIsOnTop 2008 with their ideas, time, and wallets: I want to extend a belated thank you for making MOT #6 a success. I also want to thank those of you who responded with your feedback via the survey. Ian, Michael and I are always looking for ways to make the event better and your feedback is essential. We hope for the return of Lib & Bill's Pub Trivia night (Trojan Peeps only won by 1 point, you know!), the Moose Hunt with Bawana Lalor, Josh Wardell's Concourse d'Elephants, Richard's Loon Lot management and afternoon drives, and one of the most popular events this year: Ivan Sever's DSL competition. | And might I add that these great ideas came from somewhere - YOU! ... MOT generally, Libby's Trivia Contest and Ivan's DSL started as an idea that sounded fun for the originator and somebody followed through. If there is something that sounds fun to you chances are that it might be fun for others. Let Theo, Ian or me know what you're thinking so we can fit it in. | Possible. I'd need some help though. p(P)ez? 'Course, we'd need to keep it under 20 people. Not because that's how many we could handle, but because that's how may I think we should have there. Weed out the obvious ones. Two spots available by lottery (like that'd be fair.....), the rest by coercion. I imagine there'll be bourbon too. And applejack. Mikey...you may be an obvious one. The rest of you, if you're wondering if you are......well, you are. |
