MINIs Only Driving Skills School - June 14

Yes, the second annual Advanced Driving Skills School (ADSS) for MINIs Only will be held on Saturday June 14th, 2008.

Hosted by the White Mountain Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America, with experienced instructors for every driver, you will have fun and learn important car control skills at an ADSS tailored for MINIs.

Last year's event was a huge hit, with MINI drivers not only enjoying themselves but more importantly learning how their own MINIs (and other cars) react in wet conditions, emergency braking situations and more. http://www.mini2.com/forum/3098435-post153.html

Held at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (formerly NH International Speedway) in Loudon NH, the event takes place in a large parking lot. Learn how to control your MINI in understeer and oversteer situations, as well as how to make a lane change and still keep your MINI under control while bringing it to a quick stop.

Bring yourself, your MINI (and even a family member or friend, if you'd like) for a great learning and social event.

The ADSS is co-sponsored by Concord Motorsport (Independent BMW and MINI Cooper Sales and Service Concord Motorsport) and MINI of Peabody (MINI of Peabody is a Peabody MINI dealer and a new car and used car Peabody MA MINI dealership.).

The cost is $85 per driver, which in many respects is the best money you can spend on your MINI.

Registration is through MotorsportReg at: MotorsportReg.com : Register > MINI Only Driving Safety Skills School 6/14/2008

Thanks Ian and Pete. We have 5 registrations so far but still need about 15 more to make this happen.

Posted on nemini as well. Thinking about it, but I'm also doing the Blue Ridge Parkway later that week, so might not make it.

I signed up as an instructor... so that probably doesn't help reach the number of people needed to have the event.

Sarah and I are considering it, but we can't commit at this point. That's also Father's Day weekend, and I'm not sure if we've got paternal plans, yet.

This event is on a Saturday, so hopefully most people's Father's Day plans aren't too much in the way.

Better still, register and bring along your dad as a Father's Day present!
Or Fathers, invite your children!

Free Food!

Yes, Free Food!

No, that's not the point of the driving school, but Free Food is a bonus.

Returning sponsors Concord Motorsports will have coffee and pastries in the morning, while MOP will provide lunch for the drivers and instructors.

The school is a great event, hope to see you there!

I'm looking forward to getting to play with the brown MINI on the skidpad.

BUMP

We're still short about 10 people to make this happen. The event organizers are giving it another week, then they will have to postpone.

Lots of Lookers

Have you "viewed" the thread?

(The answer is "yes," of course, since you're reading this)

What's your reason for attending? not attending?

If leaning toward taking the driving school, do you have any questions?

The driving school is an incredible learning experience, whether you've been driving for nearly 40 years (as I have) or 4 (as you or your kids may have been)

I'm in.

Should Iregister or wait until we know if it is going to take place on the 14th?
