Red Cooper Breakfast Club – May 24, 2008

Ok, breakfast "club" might be overstating things a bit, but I've been wanting to put together a fairly regular, low-key breakfast run for a while, now, and it looks like I've finally got a day that works.

Who: You, that's who!
What: A run for breakfast. About an hour of driving some of Southern New Hampshire's back roads, ending up at a fine eating establishment.
Where: Starting point is the Pheasant Lane Mall parking lot. Exit 36 (MA) or 1 (NH) off US-3. Ending point to be determined, but probably the Red Arrow diner in Manchester to start the series off with.
When: Kickstands up (bonnets down? doors closed?) at oh-eight-hundred hours, Saturday, May 24th, 2008. What's the "O" stand for? Oh my God, it's early! Hopefully we'll arrive at the Red Arrow right around 9.

Yeah, so it's a bit of an early start, but at least we'll be done early this way and you'll still have time to work on your honey-do list.

Attendees:
  • Brian and Sarah
  • AntiqueCarNut +1
  • NHRef
  • Resa +1
  • DanF

We just might be able to make it for this one. If there's going to be a large group - better call the Red Arrow. The place is always crowded and accommodating a group may be tough.

Thanks, Adam. Everyone, please let me know if you're coming, so I can get some semblance of a headcount.

I think the next run will be to Parker's, and that's *definitely* going to require a call-ahead (if they even do that). Or maybe we'll just meet earlier!

I would be up for this. I don't ever recall Parker's taking reservations though. Let us know where in the lot we are to meet as it is such a big parking lot.

I tried to put the dot right where I want to meet (use the satellite view), but either way, if you're coming in from exit 36, continue down the entrance into the Pheasant Lane mall. Take a right at the stop sign and I'll park right next to the road in one of those lots.

Yep, and also one of the main entrances into the mall. It's nice and easy to get to if you're coming off 36, but you'll have to come back South if you're using exit 1. Note that you can't get off coming Southbound on 3 at exit 36...

Sadly ... I'll be in Florida again, otherwise this sounds like my sort of MINI run

I may be able to go, depends on whether LePew and I head north to pick up the Lemon.

BTW, although it shouldn't affect anyone driving route 3 in south Nashua, there's a big soccer tournament in town this weekend. Most it will likely affect, at that time of day, is anyone traveling 101A and even then just a bit slower than most Saturday mornings.

Return to Hudson Bay 2010 (and 2011) . . . not

101A slow? Naw. I've got two routes around 101A from my place by the airport down. One pops out by Joey's Diner and the other at 101A and 122. I never need to sit through that molasses-like traffic jam again, and it's even fun in the MINI!

Thanks for the heads-up, Pete.

Good luck with Lucky, Joe!

101...a.k.a. The road from hell.

I'd love to make this but I have to go back to Buffalo to pick up a few more things that we couldn't fit in last time.

I drove the route tonight and I'm pretty happy with it. Time-wise, it's ended up a little longer than I thought it would. With a detour to the Apple Store in Salem removed, it took me about 90 minutes in traffic, in the dark, and in the rain. I expect the actual route time to be closer to an hour and fifteen. I hope the additional length doesn't keep anyone from coming!

Speaking of which, if you're planning on coming, please post here so I can get a rough idea of how many people will be there.
