BMW Ultimate Drive - Transporters Wanted

The White Mountain Chapter BMW CCA is again supporting the BMW Ultimate Drive event. The event involves a fleet of 25 BMWs (sorry, no MINIs) that go from dealership to dealership.

During the day, members of the public test drive the cars. BMW make a $1.00 contribution to the Susan B. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research for every mile the cars are driven (including the transport between dealerships).

The club can use your help to transport cars from Tulley BMW in Nashua NH to BMW of Peabody (MA) on the September 22nd. The club also needs drivers to transport cars on September 29th from BMW of Stratham (NH) to the BMW dealership in Hartford, CT.

Transporters MUST present a valid drivers license, have a good driving record, be at least 21 years of age, (25 to transport 6 or 7 Series vehicles and 30 for the M3 & Alpina B7); sorry no exceptions. All vehicles will be assigned by lottery during the dinner just before the transport drivers’ meeting.

BMW and the club also provide a large van to return the drivers to the starting point (unless you want to arrange your own return), as well as snacks/drinks, movies for the bus ride home, plus a surprise gift.

I did this last year and had an absolute blast. The cars are incredible and they have Komen Foundation graphics, making the caravan a real “head turner” as we motor along. I’ll be transporting a vehicle again this year and hope you will, too.

If you’re interested in helping out, please contact Dana Sion with the White Mountain Chapter, BMW CCA (d.sion@whitemtn-bmwclub.org). For additional information and a list of the vehicles, check out White Mountain Chapter BMW Car Club.

I drove a 6 cylinder turbo 535 with all kinds of electronic doodahs. It was fun, but the guy leading the pack was going too slow...
