We'll be in Bar Harbor pre-MOT

Hi Folks,

After some discussion with the different organizers, I wanted to drop by here and let everyone know about some pre-MOT stuff. We have a group of several Minis - 5 or 6 right now - that are planning to run the Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club's Blue Ridge Parkway Tour, then The Great Ice Cream Run 2, and finish up our adventure with MinisOnTop. Our original plans also incorporated attendance at Bar Harbor Invasion, but it looks like there will not be a BHI this year.

So, our small group is still planning to forge ahead to Bar Harbor at the conclusion of TGICR2 for a couple days before heading over to MOT. We're working on some plans for some drives on Thursday and Friday and whatever else we can figure out to do. I'm also planning to do the BHI tradition of a Cadillac Mtn. sunrise on Saturday before heading over to MOT (I think most of the others are planning to sleep in and I'll grab them on the way out of BH).

Anyway, if there is anyone who is interested in joining us, please feel free to either leave a message on my profile here or you can directly send me an e-mail to jcausey@totehmoon.com. Or find me at the THMMC site (same username - jcauseyfd).

Thanks!!!

Jeff Causey

P.S. - Sorry about the lack of linkys - seems I have to have 5 posts to do that.

WELCOME TO MINI2, Jeff!

Thanks for posting the group's plans!

Just as an FYI to the group, it is about 5 hours (+/-) between Bar Harbor and the Loon Lot in Lincoln, NH. The Loon Lot is where the Saturday morning MINIsOnTop festivities get started. At noon, the three scenic drives and the Most Excellent DS'Lympics (MINI/Mini Gymkhana) begin. Later in the afternoon (4:00-4:30) folks arrive at the Mt. Washington Auto Road for the festivities under the Big Top.

So, MINIs/Minis in BH will need to be on the road by 7:00 am to make it to the Loon Lot by 12:00 noon. The latest any MINIsOnTop attendee should leave BH is 11:30 am in order to be at the Mt. Washington Auto Road by 4:30 pm.

Mobile phone signals are spotty in the White Mountains but I will email you my mobile phone number so you (and/or the group) can try to reach us when you leave BH.

Also, make sure anyone who is attending MINIsOnTop gets their registration in pronto and arranges for lodging quickly. Go to the MINIsOnTop website for lodging info.

Not sure if I'll head up to BH or not, yet ... but appreciate your support in pulling this together, Jeff
