| Back... | Motoring up Mt. Washington I know there are many Mini owners in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont (as well as all our neighbors). I was thinking how fun would it be to do a Mini Trek to Mt. Washington. To get a group of Mini's together to drive up to the top of the Mountain. Make a day of it, drive up to the top, and then have lunch near by (or a picnic somewhere on the mountain). What do you guys (and gals) think about this? -Winslow This space for Rent |

Offline | Excellent idea. I need to run the Kancamagus again this spring. The auto road usually opens again in May. I was there in late Sept. In Lincoln, NH there was a Corvette show at the "Hobo Junction" parking lot. The MCS stole the show as we tooled around the lot. There are some wicked driving roads just north of Mt. Washington and then east into Maine. Too bad they cancelled the auto race in 2002. It may not be run in 2003 either. Here's a link to some pics from the auto road site: http://www.mountwashingtonautoroad.c...e.html?start=2 Missing my buddies Dan and Ed but glad I have two angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs |

Offline | A fine idea. BTW, I came too close to finding out the other night if my '03 MCS would fit under a moose. Love those brakes ![]() Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

Offline | Definately one of the draw backs of living up north! The moose can cause some serious damage to even the largest of cars. I spend a lot of time in north/central Maine in the summer and worry more about MINI/moose encounters than anything else. | Back... | Moose isn't what worries me, it is all the Deer around. I hit 4 of them with my old truck. Luckly the Mini gives off enough light to see far enough ahead and off to the side of the road (So you can see the glowing eyes in the ditch ready to make their run for your grill). This should hopefully help you slow down in time. This space for Rent |

Offline | Just a thought Thanks Lord, We out here in the woods of SW NH fear moose far more because, at least in a standard sized vehicle, when you hit 'em, you take their legs out and the body slides up the hood, thru the glass, and into your lap. Usually, with a deer, you smack the body and you don't get a seat partner. You are right about the lights, of course. Thanks John ![]() Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

Offline | Got Deer? And I thought that mounted trophies went on the hood head pointing forward. What an ass! Ooops Great photo and a good reminder to all of us. Have you ever noticed that NE drivers spend more time watching the sides of the road than looking straight ahead? ![]() Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |
