Offline | NorthWestern New England "Italian Job" get-together I'm sure there will be a bunch of "Italian Job" viewing parties springing up (opening date is May 30 as of right now). Since I'm up in Burlington, VT - what are the chances of putting together something up here? I know there are at least 5 MINIs in the Burlington area... are there more than 2 of us (MGB Boy and myself) who read this board? Should we do something in B-town? Alternatively, we could start moving things south until we pick up enough people. Obvious locations down I-89/93 are Montpelier (not much of a gain in participation, I bet), West Lebanon NH (I saw a MINI drive past me there when I was limping along with a failing transmission), Concord NH, Manchester NH, and Nashua NH. I figure the Boston area people will do their thing down there, I'd like to get something for those of us further north, so Nashua is a last resort ![]() If you'd be in for something, post here telling how far north works for you. It'd be cool to keep things in Concord or north. |

| Back... | Re: NorthWestern New England "Italian Job" get-together Well this Mini owner from Manchester, NH would love to drive up to Burlington for a meet. I used to live in Essex Junction, and miss lazy summer afternoons, drinking beer on the patio at the Pub and Brew. Biking along the bike path down by the lake. Driving up Route 2 through the Islands. Crusing down VT114 (I think that is the number) from Essex Junction to Richmond to pick up 89, and taking the corners just a bit too fast. Would love to drive up. Offline | Keep me posted on this! Just hope mud season is gone by that time! My car has been parked all winter so I will be looking forward to putting on some miles. How about starting the day with a tour through the Notch? Pure Silver S in Newfane. |

Offline | Sure! Which notch? Smuggler's? There's a great road near the Jeffersonville side of the notch - Hogback Road from route 109 in Waterville and route 15 just outside of Johnson. |

Offline | What about the sunset drive-in in Colchester... They might be playing "The Italian Job". http://www.mallettsbay.com/sunset/ My other thought was to go to the Essex Outlet Cinema. Do lunch at Foodee's pizza there, drive in a big circle (route 15 -> pleasant valley rd -> 108/109 (Jeffersonville) -> Hogback Rd (to Johnson) -> something to get to 108 through Smuggler's Notch (I'm not sure what's not a dirt road, we could always just use 15 and 100) -> some route back to the Essex Outlets to see the movie (double back on Pleasant Valley? Take 15?) A similar drive could be done for the drive-in, I'm sure. |

| heterochromic & loving it | Okay, time to bump this back up to the top. There's a sneak preview tonight, but the movie opens properly next Friday. From checking showtimes online, it appears it will be playing at Hoyts Cinema 9 and the Essex Outlet Cinemas (don't know about the drive in yet). Essex Outlet would be my preference, as they have better sound and stadium seating. Driving/eating details to be figured later. So who's game? -Ricardo |

| heterochromic & loving it | Depends on the plan. I've got a limited supply of vacation days left unaccounted for, so if there is to be any sort of "extensive" touring prior to the movie, Saturday works best. If it's more contained around town, the Friday "premiere" might be more fun... -Ricardo |

Offline | It looks to be just the two of us. Either day will work for me, but I think I'm leaning towards Saturday myself. Make a final plan and I'll be in. I also have to go see Finding Nemo (no, not New England Mini Owners) this weekend. |

Offline | Movie time sounds good... Are we gonna drive / eat before hand or just do the movie thing? I did time a loop from the outlet through the notch and back using Hogback Rd in Johnson - it was something like 2 hours I think... Maybe something shorter ![]() |

Offline | Alright... movie at 7:20 @ Essex Outlet Cinema. ~2 hour drive beforehand. Need some time to eat (Foodees in Essex Outlet? Someplace in Stowe / Morrisville / Johnson / Jeffersonville?) So, let's say meet at the Essex Outlet parking lot, somewhere near the cinema, at 4:00... unless there's any objections. |
