Thats a whole helluva lot of commission. I wish my girl could come tomorrow. Are we actually going to the beach? Should I wear my beach clothes?

Heck I'm going dressed like my beach bumb self even if it's raining y'all! And I'm going to set foot on the beach too. Lay on it for a bit and if the water's not frickin arctic i'll go in for a body surf. That's my plan and if you don't mind yer MINI's interior getting a touch damp and sandy then it's the BEST way to welcome it to SUMMER!!!!! Bring towels! I mean it's not like West End 2 is serviced by shuttle, is it? I imagine we're right on the shore.

Oh man! I remember texas beaches!!!! Galveston anyone? Sea the color of mud!!!! No waves! Not that I'm claiming JB has surf the quality of Montauk... It should have decent show of white sand, honest to goodness sweeping dunes, and and a deep green/blue sea with hopefully tall, white tipped crests.

That was fun! Had a great time meeting everyone (once we found the right parking lot, of course.) & I concur with CooperSpeed13, the Montauk leg added very nicely. The sun came out (I got a bit of burn on neck, but it's worth it) and made it a great day at the beach. We even got to see two more ferraris, and stop in Mini of South Hampton. Great driving out there!

A big thanx to everyone who came out, and of course to GMini for the ride.

Left at 7 got home at 11. THAT's a day of motoring! I went through a tank and a quarter of gas. 500 miles easy. And oh were we blessed with Montauk sunshine! What fun! Thanks Cooperspeed for coming along! It was real fun showing off the town to someone who appreciated it (even if you don't like seafood

We had a great drive down to the meet, as well. Sunshine on the way. What happened on Western Long Island???

Hey Coops - did you find any traffic on the way up? Find home ok?

Yeah directions were fine, 95 I think it was had construction so it was screwed up ,but I found the Hutch and the bridge no problem. I even saw a few MINI's on the way back. Moving the radar detector up saved me from a ticket tonight I think...thansk for the advice...

No Ants, actually, I slowed down and 2-wayed "cop" on 495. Cooperspeed zoomed past me saying he got nothin on his Cobra. So I watch as this trooper pulls off the median behind him and laugh as the lights go on. Long story short - It was the COP who told him where to properly mount his radar detector!!! Turns out the officer had seen The Italian Job the night before. He told Coops he loved the MINIs and thought his was "downright evil looking". Chris got off with a warning!

Can't believe he hasn't told the story himself yet - I kept waiting. Sorry Coops.

OMG...thats is unreal! All I got when I got stopped was a ticket for a 75 in a 55.
