My first post here.

I am looking for a good dealer in tri-state area. I am located in Jersey City and the closest one is in Manahttan (not a good place to test drive). So I am thinking about going to Prestige Mini in Mawah. I'd appreciate with any help you can give.

You might try MINI of Fairfield County which is Stamford, CT. My MINI is on order from there. They keep volunteering for me to take ANOTHER test drive and have been fine so far with the order details. Cost $550 over msrp. Cant speak to the service yet or rate of delivery from the boat. Car due in on boat June 20 and dealer told Qamper at least 12 days after that for car to get to dealer and be ready.

Thanks guys. In fact I emailed Dan at Prestige. He replied quite quickly and seems to be nice. I am going this saturday there to see it for myself. Hopefully, he is as nice as he seems to be.

Also, I am looking to pay MSRP, not a penny more. What is Prestige policy on this? I know Mini of Manhattan and Don Rosen Mini (Bala Cynwyd, PA) charge MSRP.

Hello HKMINI:
I fellow mini2 member brought to my attenttion that I should not necessarily consider the destination and handling to be an "added charge." With this in mind let me restate--at Mini of Fairfield County in Stamford I paid msrp of $19425 plus Destination and Handling of $550. I believe this is strictly what is listed on the websites as well. So, while I am not happy to have picked a car where I could not negotiate from the invoice price that was my decision and it is probably more fair to say that Stamford charged me exactly what was expected.

AND.......... i did not pay one penny over mrsp...that was when i took posession in may 2002. i don't know if the policy has changed. if you do decide to go with them, you will not regret it. they are a GREAT bunch!

Gryphon: oh that's what you meant. No problem then. I guess all dealers are going for MSRP (including handling charge).

mia: I am going there this Saturday. I am pretty sure I am ordering through them. They claim they have the most volume in north east so I'll have better chance with them for September production.

This is update coming back from Prestige Mini in Mawah NJ. In a word, delightful. Dan was great! He was courteous and very easy to talk to. He wasn't pushy at all. He also numerous times reminded me and my wife that anything we do is up to us. I whole heartedly recommend Prestige Mini and ask for Dan.

And thanks to Mia for letting Dan know that I am coming in.

I am 100% sure I'll go through Dan for my Mini.

i was at prestige this morning, looking at what other MINI merchandise i can buy .
