I dunno John. Hardly ever see them.

I don't live there, but when i take backroads in Newtown the stops are never announced and always covered with trees up to the last second. I work in Brookfield so I can attest I must be too used to the stops along my backroad routes. Not one of them are 4-way, actually. As for Fairfield County Proper, where you saw Scar sing, I recall nothing of 4-ways.

Unhappy NOT A GOOD IDEA

So, my son calls me. He is in his early 20s and lives on another planet. This year, he came back from Vail where he had taught skiing/boarding, bartended, etc., for 4 years.

He is a self-taught glass jewelry artisan and very very good at the torch with a real flair for creating beautiful things. I love him dearly but he really is a spaceshot.

He tells me he was one of 70000 at the Phish concert in Maine this w/e and his net gain was $700. Huh? I asked. Oh yeah, Dad and I even bought a ticket for the concert at $100. Turns out, he sold his glass pendants, grilled cheese sandwiches (the motto is "WTF, It's only a buck" - my son), bottled water, glow sticks, etc. in the parking lot. I think the whole state was the parking lot. He says it took him 10 hours to travel the last 18 miles to the concert.

Why tell this tale? Future MINI tours and events should avoid at all costs rock concert areas as well as my son's cheese sandwiches.

Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear.

Phish Heads are one of the reasons I came back a day early and via a different route. Was originally going to come down from Quebec through the Fort Kent area but realized that Rt. 95 would be littered with Phish heads and to be avoided. I didn't stay over in Quebec. Why? Because the drivers were so damn in your face, cut you off, agressive a-holes. I've driven many places and this was by far the worst bunch of miscreant dip weed motorists I have ever had to deal with.
Other than that I had an awesome road trip, discovered a couple of more back roads in Maine that are mind boggling and fit Steve's criteria for running balls to the wall. I'm going to start another thread regarding these criteria and the roads.
Bad Ess is right, the pulley is the balls. I don't know how I lived without it.

All Right Steve! Glad you found the pulley to be....well I wouldn't go without it. Can't wait to learn about the roads and thanks for saving me a trip to Quebec.

Wow... and that from a MA driver... They must be bad..! I thought the above comments applied to MA drivers (at least in metro Boston). I'd never seen driving like until I moved here. After 5 years I'm just about getting used to it.

Ess, did you save your old pulley? How about a beanie-like hat with the old one set horizontally and spinning, but slowly

Yea! I like it John. A battery pack at the waist. A speaker that makes the 6,000 rpm whistle.

GagetGav,

I see the issue in your sign off. Is there more on this?

(not GadgetGav but anyway)

Go here on MCOL but suggest you don't try to read every post!

Then go here to read about the petition.

If the BMW lawyers get too excited, maybe they will be closing minisontop because it has the word "mini" in it ...

Thanks Ian, What a sticky wicket. Reminds me of the BMW Porcupine joke!

I didn't read every post, but I read enough to get involved... I can't believe BMW would really be so heavy handed. I think there are other threads on this board and I know there are big threads on MCOL so I won't go too far off topic here. Suffice to say, my opinion is that BMW oonly bought the rights to use the name MINI on a current automobile. They should realise that there were sites like minispares around long before their car hit the road, so I can't see how they hope to be able to say they have the rights to any domain name with the word mini in it if it's associated with cars.
Lawyers with their heads up their @$$es as usual.

Heading off to northern Maine at about 4:30 a.m. Friday
Will be back just before Labor Day. Darn, only 3 weeks up north At least I have the MINI and not the pickup truck. If the local public library's computer isn't hacking and coughing up too many bits I'll log on and say hi now and then when I get into town.
