Go pick on poor Uncle Joe, you Athols. Triple space quad....It, BTW, is my First Law of Divorce, something those of you with spouses ..aw never mind, ain't worth the keystrokes. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear.

But it doesn't go over with the masses....... First prize for the "John needs a new sig" contest has been decided. The winner gets to give him a PezBoy haircut, the two runners up get to hold him down while the buzz proceeds.

John's new sig. "Old, flaccid, pot bellied, drooling, shakey, slow, feeble...." How do we fit all these in a sig? I'll begrudgingly admit that he has a quick wit and can think on his feet. Missing my buddies Dan, Ed, and Diane but glad I have three angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs

| MINIs to Bahaba Sunday for recon Call to all MINIs in, near, or crazy enough to drive to Maine !!!!! I know you are there!!!!! Sunday---Oct. 5 (?)- Suvssuk and are going on a recon of potential sites and ideas for the Acadia leg of MOT 2004. Everyone who wants to come and add their two cents is welcome.... Spoke to a Park |Ranger when I was down there last Friday and MINIs coming is no problem. There is nothing we need to do to notify them. Gates at the bottom of the mt. open 1 hour before---3:30 AM? Yawn..... We will report the details as they arise.... |

I've been thinking...and while that in itself is normally subject to intense ridicule from the potentate of MOT, he's in Maine this weekend. His deputy is out counting hills in Worcester and, thus, preoccupied. So what I was thinking about were potential new wrinkles for MOT '04. Lord Winslow, our resident realist will chime in here, I trust. But here is my idea. How about, with the assistance of MINIUSA, ex-pats, and perhaps M of P'body, we get a small group of those intrepid guys and gals who build our cars to cross the pond and be our guests for the trip? Let's have a contest of some sort or a competition...but what I would like to see is a group of, say, 6 factory floor workers (NO jacket and tie types), chosen somehow, flown over to Boston, hosted by the Boston crowd, and participating in the Maine to NH branch of MOT either as passengers or in used MINIs loaned for the weekend or rented by Peabody and/or even the dreaded HC (hey, change is always possible!). I would prefer the group to consist of the folks who get their hands dirty creating our fun. I know, having hosted or rather helped host piper bands a few years ago for highland games, that regular guys are regular guys regardless of where they are from (ladies, too - sorry). For those of us MOT vets who know Ian and Gavin, this might be a tough concept but it is true.We would need considerable info. and liaison help from NJ, good contacts in Oxford, etc., great offers for help from Boston MINIers (this trip should cost the participants little or nothing). Just a way to have fun, say a bit of thanks, help me learn some more Brit.slang, meet new folks, show off what we do with THEIR hard work, etc. Thoughts? Quick before you know who gets back. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear.

Hey! Watch it mate..! Just 'coz you're up earlier than me and the head honcho is away, doesn't mean you can start throwing the insults about... Oh, wait, you do that when he's here anyway..! ![]() Sounds like a good idea, but it sounds like a lot of work..! Do we know if there's anyone on these boards associated with the UK factory..? Maybe Paul Mullet can help. I think I rememeber MiNiGuY left or got laid off or something and he's the only one I remember on here from the factory. Maybe there are others but they keep a lower profile than he did... ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

Biggest problem I see John is the flight cost. Also, I am not sure when schools stop for summer in England, but mid-June is close - flights might be pretty pricey! Then what if these MINI builders want to bring family? Or will you pick only young/free/single people? And what about the 3000+ who don't get picked!? I think a better idea might be for us to go to them - I already took a MOT2003 photo book over when I visited ...
